WONDER WOMAN 1984 Star Chris Pine Seemingly Closes The Door On Returning For A Third Movie

Steve Trevor is going to somehow make a miraculous return in Wonder Woman 1984 but it appears as if hopes of him arriving in the present day have been dashed based on recent remarks from Chris Pine...

In Justice League, Batman appeared to be totally unaware that Steve Trevor was resurrected during the 1980s and that may not bode well for the character having much of a future in the DC Extended Unvierse. All we know is that he's possibly brought back to life by mystical means but that's bound to backfire on Diana Prince after her first love sacrificed himself during World War I.

The question is, will Wonder Woman 1984 really be the last we see of the heroic pilot?

Well, during a recent interview to promote I Am the Night, Pine was asked to comment on the possibility of him starring in Wonder Woman 3, a movie we now know will take place in a "contemporary" setting thanks to director Patty Jenkins.

"I think Steve's done," the actor confirmed. "I think Steve's done his bit. I wish them all the luck in the world." There's nothing to say he won't be brought back, of course, but resurrecting him again would definitely feel forced and it would take a lot of explaining for him to have not aged since 1984!

There are other characters Jenkins can turn to if she believes Diana needs a new love interest but it wouldn't hurt to just keep the spotlight on Wonder Woman for a while. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section down below.

@regularmovieguy - the truth is, none of us are alive. We're all just constructs in weird al yankovic's imagination. How else can you explain trump's election?

@Origame - Or we can all exist in the imagination of a kid, in a snow globe

Maybe Steve isn't actually alive in 1984...

@WakandanQueen

Yeah, just a manipulation of Diana. He won’t actually be real.

Probably just a flashback or two in the new movie, she’ll be over him by the third movie. She’ll be single and ready to mingle!

I think they won't actually resurrect him, but that it's some magic hallucination thing or something like that

Personally I think it's super lazy that they just bring him back from the dead in a supernatural, one-off scene and then he's just there to hang out for the sequel. Haven't seen it yet obviously but I can't see how this won't take a lot of the impact out of his death in the first one. I think Jenkins just can't let go of Pine, she just started that I Am the Night show on TNT or something, he's starring in it for her. We'll see, but I'm not one in the camp that feels Wonder Woman 1 was amazing or infallible and everything we've heard about this sequel sounds like it could easily halt the momentum the first one was able to capture. It was a solid, good solo outing, I hope they don't go backwards.

I think he is right, appearing also in the 3rd entry not only would it over do it but not allow Diana to put a definitive closure on that chapter of her life.

Really wanna now the mechanics and mobiles behind his role in 1984.

Good for him. He needs his own star vehicle instead of carrying a franchise where he is not the star.

I wish he would be able to be in the present timeline and all he'd need to make it work is having some make-up that ages him. But seeing as that won't be the case I wonder if this means Diana will end up with Trevor Barnes, or Tom Tresser.

Should've been the grandson or great grandson set in modern day.. not bring him back in the sequel, but I guess Gal needs Pine
