In Justice League, Batman appeared to be totally unaware that Steve Trevor was resurrected during the 1980s and that may not bode well for the character having much of a future in the DC Extended Unvierse. All we know is that he's possibly brought back to life by mystical means but that's bound to backfire on Diana Prince after her first love sacrificed himself during World War I.
The question is, will Wonder Woman 1984 really be the last we see of the heroic pilot?
Well, during a recent interview to promote I Am the Night, Pine was asked to comment on the possibility of him starring in Wonder Woman 3, a movie we now know will take place in a "contemporary" setting thanks to director Patty Jenkins.
"I think Steve's done," the actor confirmed. "I think Steve's done his bit. I wish them all the luck in the world." There's nothing to say he won't be brought back, of course, but resurrecting him again would definitely feel forced and it would take a lot of explaining for him to have not aged since 1984!
There are other characters Jenkins can turn to if she believes Diana needs a new love interest but it wouldn't hurt to just keep the spotlight on Wonder Woman for a while. What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that in the comments section down below.
