Anna Paquin Confirms That She Won't Appear As 'Rogue' In The GAMBIT Movie

Many fans assumed we might see Rogue pop up alongside Channing Tatum's Remy LeBeau in Fox's Gambit flick. Well, if the character is set to appear, she won't be played by Anna Paquin...

Much like Cyclops, many feel that Rogue got the short end of the stick in Fox's X-Men franchise. In the comics she's a kick-ass Southern Belle who can fly and has super-strength, and in the films she's... Anna Paquin hiding under a hood. To be fair, despite a radical departure from the comics the movie version of Rogue worked well for the story and themes explored in the first film, and Paquin did a good job - but then the character all but disappeared from the sequels.

Fox had the chance to right some of those wrongs by making Rogue a main character in the Gambit movie and bringing one of the most popular superhero love stories to the screen while they were at it, but if the following Tweet from the former True Blood actress is anything to go by, that's not gonna happen.

Of course, there's always the chance Rogue will appear and has simply been recast, but that seems very unlikely. Are you guys disappointed that we won't be seeing Paquin reprise this role for Gambit? Sound off below.
