Furious 7 was released last year and broke several records at the box office. It made $353 million domestically and $1.163 billion overseas, together that is a total of $1.516 billion worldwide. It looks like The Fate of the Furious is going to be a massive hit too at the box office! According to sources, the newly released trailer has already had a whopping 139 million views in its first 24 hours of release. That number right there is much more than the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (112 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (81 million). The previous record holder was Beauty and the Beast (127 million).

About 90 million of those trailer views came from both YouTube and Facebook, which the majority of those views coming from non-North American territories. That makes sense since Furious 7 made the majority of its money overseas. Now if you look at the Facebook view count, you would see that it's at over 70 million already. Also, 26.7 million of the overall views came from NBC's Football Night in America pre-show that came before the Dallas Cowboys-New York Giants game on Sunday night.

With such positive reception, the film looks to be another hit at the box office. Will you watch the eighth installment in the franchise when it comes out? The Fate of the Furious is set to be released April 12, 2017.

"The Fate of the Furious is set to be released next April and stars Vin Disel. "

Get your facts straight, Joy.

It stars Tyrese.

Unbelievable. I still don't get how this franchise still exists. I watched the last flick and absolutely hated it. But whatever... Kudos to Diesel and teh Rock, I suppose.

They're trying to set up a spin-off with this new movie. The Rock doesn't like working with Diesel and Universal knows that the Hobbs character is much more interesting than any of the other characters.

So they are setting up for Hobbs to lead the team and his chemistry with Statham's Deckard Shaw to lead into the spin-off movie.

@JohnCena - I've heard that Rock-Vin stuff may just be for a match at Wrestlemania.

@thor2273 - Nope. As I am part of WWE, I can confirm that that is not the case. The Rock is my bro.

Damn I know these movies make a lot of money but more trailer views than The Force Awakens? Definitely surprising.
