Is CAPTAIN MARVEL Actress Lashana Lynch Poised To Replace Daniel Craig As 007?

Is Lashana Lynch poised to replace Daniel Craig as 007 in the James Bond franchise?

A new rumor from The Daily Mail claims that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s rewrite of the Bond 25 script will see the 31-year-old Captain Marvel actress introduced as an MI6 agent sporting the iconic's spy's codename. According to the report, the movie features "a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says 'come in 007', and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman."

Very perceptive. Lynch's role was being kept under wraps so there was already some speculation that she may be playing another agent, if not that agent specifically.

At this point it's not clear if she'll actually be taking over as the franchise's lead while the Bond character takes a backseat, but it seems more likely that this new 007 will simply feature in a supporting capacity alongside Bond... for the time being, at least.

It's important to take this as a rumor for now, but it is also worth noting that this particular tabloid is generally on point when it comes to James Bond-related scoops.

What do you guys think? Drop us a comment down below. Bond 25 is set to hit theaters on April 8, 2020.

@MexCowboyNation - Didn't Casino Royale hint that there was a 007 that was not Bond before him tho, I honestly can't remember?

WTF, James Bond is meant to be a man. He's supposed to embody what every man wants to be a rich, white dude, who can kick ass, kill, and have sex with the hottest ladies while on the job. Hollywood needs to go [frick]ing make new characters and stop gender-swapping established characters. These slight changes is [frick]ing stupid.

How will people feel if we changed Barbie into a dude or transgender?

@LongMayHeReign - Yes, the intro of Casino Royale hinted that 007 was supposedly just a "code name" that was passed on. It was never confirmed, but it was fan-theorized as "Judi Dench" who plays "M" was also a returning actor from a previous bond franchise, even though there is no official continuity between each films.

@mastakilla39 - LMAO. Daniel Craig himself said James Bond is someone men shouldn't look up to, given that he's a misogynist.

Plus, Bond raped a lesbian once. Not really a source of admiration.

@mastakilla39 - So after responding to my comment do you realize how [frick]ing absurd your first comment was retrospect? Not to mention that fact that Lynch's character will be in the same movie as Craig's Bond, SO HOW THE [frick] ARE THEY MAKING JAMES BOND A BLACK FEMALE?!!!!!!!

As long as Barbara Broccoli is still around, that will never happen. Nor should it.

@knocturnalzen10 - I think this news just hit me like a ton of bricks lol. I'm probably gonna be fine with it at the end of the day. I don't care much for Bond personally.

@knocturnalzen10 - it's not because people don't want a female lead action films they don't want male characters co-opted for no legitimate reason.

I would also say there's nothing progressive about gender swapping roles - create new ones - like in Haywire, which I also enjoyed.
