End credits of Rodriguez's Machete promises that Danny Trejo's character will return for a sequel movie.

Bloody Disgusting has learnt that a script is actually completed for the movie and according to the movies leading man, Danny Trejo himself, it could be coming out sooner rather than later.

On a red carpet interview, Danny Trejo had this to say about Machete's return in a sequel:

"I asked (Robert Rodriguez) when he was going to write it and he says it's written, so we can get started pretty quick. We went all over the world with that movie and people kept having me sign these Machete action figures, it was a lot of fun. I don't even think Robert Rodriguez even expected that reception and now everyone is waiting for Machete Kills so hurry up Robert Rodriguez!"

LEEE777 - Machete is a planned as a trilogy, next one according to Trejo again are titled Machete Kills, followed by Machete Kills Again. No news on the actual story and script as yet.

I really loved Machete. But it really doesn't need a sequel. Please Rob, make Sin City 2 before the whole cast dies. I mean we've already lost Brittany Murphy. :(

He's probably making this because he has almost all the control over the project, just like with spy kids. I'm sure there's a lot more moving parts with sin city 2 like getting actors back and what Frank Millers doing etc.

Shaman - 12/3/2010, 10:13 AM
Boekelaar- Good point, yet i'm sure he won't be running out of money anytime soon and his own Spy Kids & Machete properties aren't going anywhere so they'd still be there waiting for him after Deadpool and Sin City.

Fingers crossed @ SHAMAN, damn, how long for a SIN CITY 2 or DEADPOOL now?

Btw, does anyone actually want another SPY KIDS?

LEEE777- Evidently, he'll stop making them when people stop going to see them. Like the Mighty Freakin' Power Rangers.

Awesome! Machete was just a fun ridicolous over the top action film that delivered on what it promised. Machete rules! Can't wait for the sequel!

"Machete don't text."

Ror- SAY WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And then fans of his wonder why there aren't more of them.
Like it's one of Earth's greatest mind boggling mysteries or somethin'.
Swear to God, eventually he'll make a movie about an old Mexican taking a crap on a young girl's chest
and then his fans will just eat it up like pudding.
Maybe that's what's in store for the sequel.

"Sorry folks, i can't make all these films you guys want me to make.
I got too many phones being taken out of cooches to film
and the latin coprophilia industry is breathing heavy on me to make my next project.
Gotta keep the girlfriend working, ya know?"

haha, exactly. I find the man to be a pretty useless story teller and a lousy film maker in general. He does have an eye for action no doubt, but since most of it is so over the top and ridiculous its difficult to know what he could do if he actually had to craft any real suspense or tension from a scene. Sin City was great no doubt, but I just don't like his style at all.

Ror- Very true, Sin City was definitely a once in a lifetime struck by lightning genius spasm kinda thing. As a kid i was able to enjoy Desperado, but i watched it recently and... GAH!!! ...didn't age too well with me there. Anything else from his is simply not up my cooch.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Stop cock teasing Sin City 2 when you have no intention of filming it, you dumb son of a bitch!!

Sin City was so quick to film. Actors would just come in and film on green screen and be done. Two people having a conversation in the movie didn't even have to film on the same day. THE SCRIPT IS DONE, THE ACTORS ARE BASICALLY CASTED, AND IT'LL TAKE NO TIME AT ALL!! prick.

haha sorry, Sin City's my favorite movie and they keep promising a sequel. I'd be fine if they would just say they aren't doing it, but they don't even have the decency to do that.

@ Shaman

Seriously! I always thought of Desperado as one of Rob's better films. Though I must admit I haven't seen it for a while. May'be it is due a re-watch.

I do like Robert Rodriguez and his movies are very entertaining but with Machete and Planet Terror I think he's just not taking the risks that he did before. Though it is very dated now the first watching of "From dusk till dawn" is shocking when you don't know anything about it.

Well I'm glad that the hilarious "Machete" is getting a sequel. It's so rarely that i've had such a fun time at the movies. I just hope that the plot isn't quite so muddled the next time around. As for Sin City, I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for the sequel.
