This year saw The Green Hornet, THOR, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern and Captain America: The First Avenger hit the big screen. As it stands right now, THOR was victorious in the 2011 battle of superhero movies at the box office. Each of them were new properties (well, apart from X-Men: First Class, but it DID feature an entirely new cast) so it was always going to be a surprise no matter who eventually came out on top. 2012 is an entirely different matter altogether. Not only do we have the culmination of every Marvel Studios movie ever in the form of The Avengers, but we have a sequel to the incredibly successful The Dark Knight and a new Spider-Man movie, a franchise which was previously very financially successful in the hands of Sam Raimi. Oh, and there's also Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
The question I asked you guys to answer was simple. Which of these superhero movies do you think will be the victor come 2012? Well, here are the results in full...
It's not that shocking a result when you think about it! After all,
The Dark Knight is the most financially successful comic book movie EVER and Christopher Nolan's last movie -
Inception - was another big hit, so it's hard to imagine
The Dark Knight Rises not following in their footsteps. But will it really be able to topple the might of
The Avengers? You guys clearly think so...
