Most of you probably remember that about a year ago Marvel announced an animated series based on "The Avengers" titled "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was in production. Most of you also are probably aware that Marvel had once put a sneak preview of the series up on their YouTube channel just about a couple months after the announcement, but for unknown reasons they took it down.

Well, now comes word that Andrew James Allen and Liam Tuohy have joined the show. Allen will portray Hank Pym while Liam Tuohy will portray Dum Dum Dugan.

The show was last reported to premiere in 2011 to tie in with "The Avengers" film, but it may be pushed back to 2012 because "The Avengers" film has been pushed back to that date.

New cartoons seem to be looking crappier now.

Yeah, the animation style looks okay to me. Sure it doesn't look like the Timm/dini DC universe, but it's Marvel does it have to look the same? And besides I don't think you can judge a cartoon with out seeing it in motion. The stylistic character designs may look slightly off in still shots but look completely different when seen in motion. i remember people saying they disliked the look of the characters in the promotional material for Hulk VS. but very little in the ways of complaints after it came out.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong, I just don't think it's fair to judge a cartoon that is so far away from being a reality. I mean it may not air until 2012, alot can change in that time.

Does look like crap. However, my opinion doesn't really matter. I am definitely not in the age range of the target audience for this stuff anymore :(

Why doed Marvel take so f**king long in the animated film, and TV series? That's my only complaint against Marvel

It looks pretty similar to Hulk vs. to me, especially thor. I don't see any huge thick black outlines or simplified stick figure style characters like in power puff girls.

nooooo don't push it back! Do tons of continuous seasons leading all the way up to the movie..

Don't these clowns know that the more exposure The Avengers get, the better it is for the movie?? That show could become the most popular cartoon on

I don't care if the animation is poopy! It's AN AVENGERS CARTOON!!! It's freaking 30 years over due!!

lol I'll tell you guys teh tr00th.. I don't have time for tv. I am barely able to get in one show a week. I haven't watched a NEW cartoon in years, but there is no way I would ever miss an episode of THIS bad boy! Uh uh!

Kes, no offense but if you compare this style to Power Puff Girls, then you're not very observant. This is far from the simple stylized designs. Their is actual foreshortening, more definition, more complex shading etc. I know you stated it's an "Advanced" version, but you could say the same thing about any cartoon that's been produced by DC or Marvel lately. It's all got a slightly simplistic design, but it has to be, it's for an animated series, not a movie.

I agree with Guardian, it does have a slight Hulk vs. feel, though I think the Thor was a lot more stylized. I wish they went with the style they had for Hulk vs Wolverine, I really enjoyed how everyone was drawn.

It looks better than Avengers: United they stand. Anyone remember how bad that cartoon was? It didn't even feature anyone from the classic line up.

@ Guardian: I don't know a thing about that! When did it come out?

it was mid 90's, after the success of the xmen and spiderman fox put out the Avengers. But it's line up featured Ant Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Vision, Wonder Man, Falcon, scarlet witch and tigra. It was pretty bad.

I mean with out Iron Man, Captain America and Thor can you really call it the Avengers?

oh man... that's pretty bad alright lol

yeah, it was just weird...I think it had to do with other stations having the rights to Iron man and the Hulk...and without them I guess they figured it would hard to explain their absences if they had Captain America and Thor. I think they were both featured in different episodes, but still the avengers needs the big three. And just about every episode featured Ultron...and I hate Ultron.

I like all the characters in it, but in this they all look like power rangers except for Tigra who looks like feral Wolverine.

yeah, I'm not sure why they all had like retractable armor. It's weird that it was so bad, I mean this was the station that really jump started superhero cartoons in the 90's with hits like Batman tas, spiderman, and the xmen this flop just seemed out of place at the time, I guess you can chalk it up to the end of Fox's saturday morning dominance in the late 90's. It seemed like they were trying to emulate batman beyond only it didn't work out for them.

Yeah, I picked up a bootleg DVD of all 13 episodes at a convention a few years back. Captain America guest starred in one episode, Iron Man in another. Even though they are kinda bad, I actually enjoyed them in a sick sorta way. I guess it's because I'm an Avengers addict and starved for any kind of Avengers related stuff. lol.

i'm curious as to whether some of the costume designs designs will be transfered over to the big screen.
Iron Man's armor looks like a stylized version from the film. what about the others?
