Big Hero 6 was somewhat of  a surprise at the 2014 box office.  The 3D computer animated film from Disney grossed $657.8 million worldwide from an estimated production budget of $165 million.  Directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, the next step for the franchise appears to be an animated show on Disney XD.  The creators of Kim Possible, Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, are overseeing production on the show (along with Nick Filippi) which is set to premiere some time n 2017.  The show will pick up immediately from where the film left off, following the further adventures of 14-year-old Hiro and his helper-robot Baymax.  Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred and Go Go are also expected to return.  The original film featured the voices of T.J. Miller, Damon Wayans Jr., Maya Rudolph, Jamie Chung, Génesis Rodríguez, Alan Tudyk and Stan Lee.  No word yet on whether any will return to voice their respective characters.

In an official Press Release, Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide stated, "Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters.  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series — full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob — and  Baymax — can deliver."
