Leonardo di Caprio was announced as the first actor to join Dreamworks Animation film - the Guardians. The Guardians, is describe as an Avengers-like assembly of imaginary icons - which includes Santa Claus, Easter bunny, and others. Di Caprio will voice the character of Jack Frost.

Here's a description of the film:

"When an evil spirit called Pitch becomes bent upon taking over the world by inspiring fear in the hearts of kids everywhere, a group of our greatest heroes—Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost—band together for the first time, determined to stand in Pitch's way. More than a collection of storybook subjects, 'The Guardians' are also a band of superheroes, who possess their own special powers. Now joined in opposition of a common foe, the Guardians heed the call and combine their powers to defeat Pitch and protect the world from his campaign of fear.

The film comes out in 2012 and is based on a series of yet-to-be published book by William Joyce.

That plot is not something new to us comicfans, I think we've seen that a couple of times already. These characters are a staple in comicbooks but still I'm intrigued and will watch it with my kid.

-access out. Godspeed!

@Access- He's better than Ackles, and not only that but apparently he's Marvel's first choice to play the character.

When I Leonardo di Caprio, all I can think about is global warming and the 2004 presidential election.
