While in a remote part of Africa exploring a mineral cache in a mysterious cave, entrepreneur JOHN GREYSTOKE and his wife ALICE are killed in a tragic helicopter crash, leaving their three-year-old JOHN, JR. to fend for himself. Rescued by KALA, a gentle ape, the traumatized child is brought up by a band of mountain gorillas as one of their own, learning the ways of the wild as he grows into a strong and independent young man known as TARZAN. At 14, Tarzan first encounters another human: JANE PORTER, a pretty and intrepid teen visiting Africa with her naturalist father. His contact with a creature so like himself leaves him unsettled and yearning for more. The gorilla tribe’s longtime leader dies and is succeeded by a brutal silverback named TUBLAT, who settles an old score by driving Tarzan out of the group. As Tarzan wanders alone, he stumbles on the wreckage of the helicopter, where he unknowingly triggers a signal to his late father’s company. CLAYTON, a ruthlessly ambitious executive at Greystoke Industries, hires Jane and her father with a greedy scheme that will destroy the entire ecosystem. Jane, hoping to derail the plan, reconnects with Tarzan and becomes a target for both Clayton and Tublat. Facing deadly challenges from man and beast, Tarzan must use his jungle intuition and his human intellect to save his home and the woman he loves. A spectacular animated safari into a vibrant and exotic landscape, TARZAN 3D is a gorgeously rendered, action-packed journey through a magnificently imagined world.

Tarzan 3D is already playing in Russia and Germany, but there is no set US release date as of yet. The movie was directed by Reinhard Klooss from a script by Klooss, Jessica Postigo and Yoni Brenner.

Tarzan in 3D too? What's he gonna do, shaka his branch in our faces? Maybe Cheetah can fling some poo our way. This 3D thing is getting ridiculous.

3D when done right makes the movie feel almost interactive IMO
Hansel & Gretel is my fave so far, gave it depth and just the right amount of ducking and flinching..same with Rise of the Guardians.
The worst so far was Wreck it Ralph..great flick but the 3D just didn't grab me

i think Prometheus had the best 3D yet. Better than Avatar.

The cinematography in this movie was just beautiful.
Mixing great cinematography with some really good effects and 3D gave an astonishing effect.

Shame that the movie didn't deliver.

The only two movies to use 3D correctly where Dredd and Avatar. I still to this day cannot watch Dredd in 2D. If you don't watch Dredd in 3D you're missing out.

@jerry Wait, are you being sarcastic or did you really like 3D in TASM? Bro, it was useless! I remember I saw the movie with a non comic book fan and after the movie she was telling me 'why did you make me pay 3€ more for nothing??'

@The Dark Phoenix

i think 3D in TAS was really good.
It wasn't spectacular, but they did a really good job with what they had.

Most TAS scenes were filmed during the night.
I was glad that i was able see anything on screen during the sewer scene, bridge scene or the big final.

Transformers 3 had a great 3D, but most of the scenes were filmed during the day.

Also Transformers 3 was half filmed in 3D, half post converted.

Can't remember if TAS was filmed the same way.

If it was only the (full) post conversion - it was the best post conversion i have ever seen.

Note: or maybe i was just pleasantly surprised after watching Thor part uno ? I remember i had to put off my 3D glasses just to see anything during the first battle.

@jerry Well, I'm not a big fan of 3D because it makes me feel a little bit dizzy. The only movies I've seen in 3D were Alice in Wonderland (good use of 3D, bad movie), Avatar (I loved the 3D in this one), Avengers (I've seen it in both 3D and regular in the movie theater and I preferred te 3D version, I think it looked really good, even at the scenes that there was no fighting) and TASM (I found it completely useless, there was no need for it except for maybe the final battle were I got really dizzy). Oh I've also seen Step Up 3D (don't ask). I just think that 3D is just an excuse for studios to get more money, only a few movies look really awesome in 3D. I guess that the next movies I'm going to see in 3D are going to be AoU and Batman vs Superman, because these are the only ones I find worthy to get a bit dizzy for.

@TheDarkPhoenix

yeah. I know a guy at my work who doesn't watch any 3D movies because of how dizzy it makes him feel.

Second problem is that the eyes need to adjust too.
I remember watching Avatar. My eyes ... hurt.

But once you adjust your eyes it's all good.
It takes time.

After Avatar i watched like 5 movies in 3D.

Besides Thor and Iron Man 3 the 3D in them went from good to spectacular (Prometheus).

Avengers 3D was also really good. They did the same trick as Bay did with Transformers 3.
Most of the scenes were filmed during the day.

jerryblake - 12/28/2013, 6:09 AM
anyway the 3D is here to stay.

More movies like Prometheus please (with better script, of course)

less shitty 3D post conversion too.

(typical cash grab Marvel, typical cash grab)

Also the movies should be shown equally in 3D and 2D.

people need to have a choice if they wanna see good movies in 3D or just 2D once the words begins to spread about how good the 3D in them is. If it's just medicore or bad i wanna see a movie in 2D instead.

this movie will fall coz of the uncanny valley. every realistic look animation still cannot avoid this issue. Eg: Disney's Christmas Carrol, Mars Need Moms, Polar Express, Final Fantasy.

I thought its live action Tarzan when I heard the announcement of project. And very disappointed when found out its Animated feature. Itsw unnecessary and that Brown font "Tarzan" makes its just like rip-off of Disney's Tarzan.
