ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Set To Begin Shooting In July As Michael Douglas Confirms His Return As Hank Pym

Michael Douglas has now officially confirmed that he's set to reprise the role of Hank Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp. Though we all pretty much assumed he'd be back anyway, it was far from a forgone conclusion as Douglas actually only signed on for one movie originally.

As Scott Lang's mentor, Pym was one of the many highlights of the first movie, so this is terrific news. The Academy Award-winning actor will rejoin Paul Rudd as the diminutive superhero of the title, and Evangeline Lilly, who will have an expanded role as Hope Van Dyne.

Douglas also revealed that Peyton Reed is scheduled to begin filming the sequel this July.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will hit theaters on July 6, 2018.

@colester - I think it confirms we're going to go find Janet like the first film alluded to, which is cool since the title of the first one referenced two Ant-Mans and now the sequel can reference two Wasps.

I don't think we'll see too much quantum realm since they obviously want to keep the budget... uh.... smaller. But maybe whatever Janet did to escape it has her stuck in Wasp size in the middle of nowhere.

@colester - I hope this sequel is more of a action/spy movie. Not just Lang fighting another guy who can become big or small with him. Go into the quantum realm and save Janet and in the 3rd movie she can become the main villain aka the Red Queen.

good. Ant-Man is for me one of the best Marvel movies. I value it more than Civil War to be honest.
