ANT-MAN AND THE WASP SPOILERS - Here's How The Mid-Credits Scene Most Likely Sets Up AVENGERS 4

The Ant-Man and The Wasp mid-credits scene has already been thoroughly picked apart, but there is one element that many seem to have missed. Find out how the Marvel sequel likely sets up Avengers 4 here...

The mid-credits scene from Ant-Man and The Wasp has already leaked online, but there's one almost throwaway moment many seem to have skipped over which may hold the key to a major Avengers 4 plot point.

There is already some speculation that The Quantum Realm will factor into the time-travel story elements of the follow-up to Infinity War, and the Marvel sequel's much-discussed mid-credits sequence might just confirm it.

During the scene, Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) warns Scott (Paul Rudd) to be careful he doesn't "get sucked into a time vortex" as he's about to traverse through the Quantum Realm. This, along with earlier comments about "time being weird" in the Miroverse, strongly imply that we'll be revisiting this time vortex in Avengers 4.

How, specifically? Well that's where your theories come in! But It's a safe bet that Cap and co. will call upon Scott's experiences in The QR as they attempt to reverse Thanos' universe-altering "snap" at the end of Infinity War.

I remember when I saw IW. the first time and after the snap when everyone was dying, and there was no music in the back ground in scenes, just fearful dialog from the characters, I actually had this feeling of shock and dread. I could not believe what Thanos had done. Well last night, when Scott was saying "very funny can you hear me ?" And then we see that Hank, Hope, and Janet were gone, I got the same feelings, there were the same gasps in the theater. Hands down the MCU. are master story tellers.

@Imfunnyhow - Many of those that didn't see it coming shrieked out loud in the theater last night. It was crazy! The mood was so light and happy and the BAM!

F-ing Thanos!

In the several years ant man is stuck in the QR, he will learn how to navigate the time vortex. When he gets out and realize what thanos has done, he seeks the avengers out to reverse all this. The QR and the stones are the key

I'm starting to think more and more that BARF was simply a misdirection. I can conceptualize how they would combine BARF, and quantum tech to do time travel. It seems redundant. Maybe QR provides the means to time travel and BARF is how they navigate to whichever time period they want to go to?

@Vigor - I think that using BARF to go to wherever they want with the Quantum Realm isn't that far fetched

@MalseMarcel - yeah I guess it's feasible. I hope they begin the movie from the pov of ant man. To see the world from his eyes for the first time since the snap.

@Vigor - I think you're right on the money. That BARF talk always seemed like slight misdirection.

I had a theory on my podcast that The Quantum Realm will be used like the cancerverse in the comics. They trap Thanos there at the end of Avengers 4.

It's clear that the way they focused on Janet's face on the "time vortex" line that it will be a major key to something.

People are calling the second mid-credit scene pointless, but if you ask me, it's incredibly unsettling. Before the camera pans over to the giant ant, you can see the television isn't getting any broadcasting signal. A sign that the outside is in total chaos.

Also, I love how they trapped Scott in the Microverse.

@Benjamitesandwich - ah I'm glad someone mentioned this. To me, that's creepy as hell. The world is in disarray... there's just a drone minded giant ant that remains doing what he's "programmed" to do. It's almost creepy and harrowing in a planet of the apes kind of way
