For those of you who saw the Avengers sequel (or for those of you who could care less about spoilers), I'm sure you saw that near the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Quicksilver was shot and killed saving Hawkeye from death. Some felt as though this decision was great and right for the story, while others thought that this decision was vacuous. In a new interview with Empire, Avengers: Age of Ultron Director Joss Whedon revealed that they shot an alternate ending that saw Pietro Maxioff surviving, and reuniting with his sister. “We did actually shoot him in the last scene, in an outfit, with his sister. We also shot him, waking up, saying, 'Ah, I didn’t really die from these 47 bullet wounds!'” He then continued, “Actually, we shot something else with that, but... maybe I’ll let you know about that later. But the intent was to earn this, and then you have to stand by it.”
