Kicking off The Walt Disney Company's earnings call for the second fiscal quarter, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger confirmed that
Avengers: Endgame will arrive on
Disney+ this December.
“We’re very pleased with our Q2 results and thrilled with the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, which is now the second-highest grossing film of all time and will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting December 11th,” Iger revealed.
Disney+ is the company's highly anticipated direct-to-consumer streaming service that will offer subscribers access to hundreds of hours worth of video content from the popular properties owned by the House of Mouse (Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, etc.). Disney+ will offer new, original content (
The Mandalorian,
WandaVision,
Marvel's What If...?, etc.) created exclusively for the streaming platform in addition to a robust assortment of Disney's previously released movies and television shows.
The library includes Disney's animated classics, past
Star Wars and Marvel films, fan-favorite TV series and documentaries, and more. As
Captain Marvel and
Avengers: Endgame additions
signify, it will also be home to Disney's future films after their theatrical run is complete.
Disney+ is actually slated to launch on November 12, so Marvel fans will have to wait about a month before they can watch
Avengers: Endgame on the service; but, there should be plenty of other entertaining content available at launch. As previously announced, Disney+ will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 for the entire year ($5.83/month).
In the meantime, you can still catch
Avengers: Endgame on the big screen. Marvel's latest blockbuster
recently passed Titanic to become the second biggest movie ever, and it currently has its sights set on James Cameron's
Avatar for the No. 1 spot.
Do you plan on seeing
Avengers: Endgame again in theaters, or are you waiting for it to arrive on Disney+?
