If you've managed to avoid the
Avengers: Infinity War trailer out of fear of spoilers, you'll be happy to know it actually doesn't give too much of the film away. That's according to Chris Hemsworth, who portrays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking to IGN, the actor admitted he was actually surprised by what was included and left out of the trailer.
"It doesn't give much away, for sure, because I remember watching it going, 'aw, it doesn't tell people enough,'" Hemsworth said.
"And then Joe [Russo] was like, you don't need to tell them anything, they want anything... Like, 'Does it explain the story?' It's like, it doesn't need to," he added.
Of course, there's still plenty to analyze from the nearly two-and-a-half minute trailer, which
set a record for most views in the first 24 hours, and fans have certainly done so. Recalling his own first reaction to seeing the trailer, Hemsworth described it as "
just a smorgasbord of cool sh*t... I think we were all excited, watching it, just looking at each other going, 'Oh my God, look what we're a part of.' You know, you're on the grind and you're working on the set, it's hard to have any perspective, and then you see the trailer and go 'oh wow,' this is what we're in for."
As it turns out, Hemsworth and Marvel fans had to wait until the very end of the trailer for their first proper look at the God of Thunder meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy. When asked who his character hits it off with in the movie, Hemsworth, who originally said
"no one," then amended his comment:
"No, he does -- I can't say too much, but you can see from that reaction of them and him, it's like, 'What the hell have i gotten myself into? Where am I? Who is this? Who are they?' There's a raccoon, there's a tree man... he's pretty confused."
Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theaters May 4.
