ONWARD Stars Tom Holland And Chris Pratt Reveal Who Would Win A Fight: Spider-Man Or Star-Lord

Onward utilises two talented Marvel Cinematic Universe stars in Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, but what did the actors have to say when asked who would win in a battle between Spider-Man and Star-Lord?

Avengers: Infinity War included a brief meeting between Spider-Man and Star-Lord in a memorable sequence which saw The Avengers go toe to toe with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

In a recent interview to promote Pixar's Onward, actors Tom Holland and Chris Pratt (what a combination!) were asked which of the two Peters they think would come out on top in a fight. "I think probably Spider-Man, right?" Pratt mused. "Because you have the Iron Spider suit."

"Without any gadgets," Holland argued, "I think Peter Quill could take Peter Parker, but I think Spider-Man would probably beat up Peter Quill." It's a valid point, and Pratt pointed out that he would have backup in a fight like that. "Peter Quill never fights alone and always fights dirty. He's got the Guardians of the Galaxy. So, if you take me on, you've got to take on Drax and Rocket Racoon."

Pratt argued that it felt like a "trick question" as the heroes would "never fight," and Holland agreed with that sentiment, stating "We'd never fight because we're best friends!"

Holland and Pratt might be best friends, but we're not so sure about Spider-Man and Star-Lord!

The webbed wonder's time interacting with the Guardians was brief, but seeing Peter Parker head into outer space with that team would be quite the trip. It might also help get Spidey off the radar of the authorities after he was framed by the malicious Mysterio and outed to the world.

Why, in the ever loving hell, would the disclaimer "without gadgets" have to be used to describe a hero that has super strength, super agility, and a sense of when and someone is going to attack him?

Because the MCU made him so.

He's not Batman, who needs gadgets. Hes not Iron Man, who would need a suit. Hell, Star Lord needs gadgets. Hes Spider-Man.

I understand they cant say "hed kick my ass" but still, think of a better excuse at least

@BillCipher - I think his point is that Spidey isn't meant to have drones, considering he's always been the hero of the middle/working class

Also, in terms of "fighting the guardians", isnt there a certain team that Spider Man always fights? Like 6 of these sinister bad guys? I cant seem to remember right now

@DannRamm113 - Bro, it's just 2 actors making playful banter to a question they've probably been asked a thousand times...it ain't that serious!

@tmp3 - Spidey isn't meant to have drones

I'd argue if the tech were conceivable in the 60s he would have them. People seem to forget how much of a gadgeteer Peter Parker is, considering his web shooters, his combination spotlight/camera belt, and his tracers.

Not to mention the various anti-badguy tools like anti-magnetic converters to fight Vulture, and the armors the guy made before the MCU.

@LongMayHeReign - If I can't be allowed to take stupid shit serious while quarantined in my home then I have nothing else to do

@Reeds2Much - Yeah, but he was still making his own tech with his own resources, that's a bit different than being handed a network of drones.

@DannRamm113 -

I take stupid shit seriously all the time (and sarcastically so). But then I've been more-or-less trapped in my home for about three years now.

Keep it up! I like it.

@tmp3 - I think the worst part about the drones (which, tbh, I forgot about) is that they're going to be ignored in all following instances of MCU Spider-Man.

"Oh no, i have to fight the sinister 6"
"Don't you have an army of stark tech drones?"
...
....
"I don't know what you're talking about, now excuse me I have to go punch the Rhino"

There's no question. Spidey wins.

Obviously within the context of something, you could write it so that anything could happen but just as a power matchup; there's no competition.

People always seem to forget that Spidey is like as strong as they come.

@Nebula - Oh yeah, in terms of street level heroes, he's about as strong as it gets. Anything over him, I kinda consider cosmic level at that point.

@KWilly -
🤔
Probably still Spidey, right?

@Nebula - Luke Cage is known to have limits to 50 tons. That's cosmic to me, lol, also since he has bulletproof skin. Jessica Jones... She's always been a mystery on how strong she is.

Sort of off topic. Well I don't have much to work with, but here are the 7 movies I went to see this year ranked worst to best:
7. Bloodshot
6. Birds of Prey
5. Impractical Jokers: The Movie
4. Bad Boys for Life
3. Sonic the Hedgehog
2. Onward
1. The Invisible Man
