Earth In Ruins
The trailer kicks off with the sun seemingly setting over the Earth but the next shot of a broken Tony Stark points to Thanos having laid waste to our planet at this point in the movie. Could it be that the battle has been won and Iron Man is the last one left alive? We've been told to expect casualties and I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is when Steve Rogers arrives on the scene to reassemble the team.
The Hulk In The Sanctum Sanctorum
How does Bruce Banner wind up meeting Doctor Strange and Wong? Well, it appears as if whatever happens when Thanos' ship attacks the one Thor and The Hulk were on will result in the Jade Giant crash landing on Earth and directly into the Sorcerer Supreme's home. Seeing as the God of Thunder met Strange in Thor: Ragnarok, it's hard not to wonder if his landing may not have been deliberate!
The Vision Is Human
The prevailing theory has been that The Vision is transformed into a human after Thanos' Black Order removes the Infinity Stone from his head but this shot appears to confirm that he still has it when he appears like this in front of the Scarlet Witch. It's possible that the Stone is missing here (it's hard to say for sure) but the romance between these two is clearly about to heat up in Avengers: Infinity War.
A Wakandan Reunion
Many shots from the trailer take place in Wakanda but it seems like Black Panther's home will be where one of the movie's biggest battles takes place. We'll get to that later but Bruce Banner clearly finds his way from Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum to the African nation just in time to reunite with Black Widow (a relationship which is clearly going to continue based on Thor: Ragnarok).
A New Group Of Avengers Assemble
Avengers: Infinity War set photos have shown Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Doctor Strange, and Wong together and it appears as if they'll be together when the Mad Titan first attacks Earth. Civilians can be seen running scared through the streets and Iron Man - sans armour - already looks like he's been through some action at this point. Perhaps this is when Strange's Stone comes under attack!
Spider-Sense
A lot of fans were understandably unhappy with Spider-Man: Homecoming not showing Peter Parker's Spider-Sense but Avengers: Infinity War is going to change that. We see the wall-crawler realising something is terribly wrong here as the hairs on his arms go up and he looks up to the sky to see a huge device hovering over New York City. It's no wonder this has drawn the wall-crawler's attention.
Thanos' Arrival
So, what is that ring hovering above New York City? It appears as if it's going to facilitate the Mad Titan's arrival on Earth and the Avengers having to destroy these MacGuffins to bring an end to Thanos' invasion makes a lot of sense. The city appears to have taken a pounding as a result of its appearance and it can't be a coincidence that this is here while Strange still has the Eye of Agamotto.
The Fall Of Asgard
Thor: Ragnarok ended on a rather positive note when the God of Thunder took the surviving Asgardians into outer space but this trailer points to Thanos having wiped them all out when he comes calling. Loki, however, has somehow survived and the terrified looking God of Mischief is clearly going to attempt to bargain his way out of being killed by handing over the Tesseract to the Mad Titan.
The Iron Spider
We've known for a while that Peter Parker will end up wearing the costume first seen at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming in Avengers: Infinity War but this trailer provides our best look at it to date. It's clearly well beyond what we last saw him wearing but is it wise for the wall-crawler to have webbed his way up onto this mysterious circle? I can't help but think it will end badly for the hero!
Thor Tries To Save The Day
This looks like another gateway of sorts and Thor is clearly attempting to close it, possibly to stop Thanos from bringing more of his forces to Earth. It's hard to say for sure, though, and it doesn't appear as if the God of Thunder is faring too well here as he tries to thwart whatever Thanos is up to.
Steve Rogers Returns
While this may be some trailer trickery, the Scarlet Witch looks extremely relieved to see that Steve Rogers has arrived on the scene as she does battle with Proxima Midnight. T'Challa's line about getting him a shield is also interesting; could it be that he'll get something new to wield until Iron Man finally gives the real deal back to him? A shot a little later in the trailer may give us a better idea.
The Hulkbuster
Earlier in the trailer, we see Bruce Banner standing alongside one of the Hulkbuster's gauntlets but who's to say it's even Tony Stark in there? If Thanos' forces arrive before Iron Man arrives in Wakanda, it would be undeniably cool to see Bruce or possibly even Black Widow forced to don the suit!
Invasion
These massive triangular structures can be seen crashing to Earth and it appears as if those probably contain the Mad Titan's invading hoards as he arrives looking for the rest of the Stones.
War
There are a lot of great action shots in this first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War but the sight of Wakanda's army going to war with these monstrous looking aliens is nothing short of extraordinary. It's hard to say which species they are (Marvel Studios has reinvented a lot of outer space creatures since Guardians of the Galaxy was released) but they look a lot like The Outriders from the comics.
Thanos Takes Down Spider-Man
Well, here's a clash none of us probably expected to see! Thanos can be seen here slamming Spidey to the ground and as powerful as he and his new suit may be, that's unlikely to end well for the hero.
The Vision Falls
A set video which surfaced last year pointed to The Vision losing the Infinity Stone on his forehead and that's confirmed here as we see The Black Order attempting to remove it from his head. Whether or not someone interrupts to save the android remains to be seen but his future appears to be bleak.
The Infinity Gauntlet
The Russo Brothers have described Avengers: Infinity War as a heist movie and it appears as if much of it will revolve around Thanos' hunt for the Infinity Stones as he's shown here with just two of them. Despite that, he's clearly already immensely powerful as the Mad Titan takes down Iron Man - in his fancy new armour - with ease and is enjoying his newfound power as he "balances" the universe.
Avengers Assemble
Steve Rogers, Black Panther, Black Widow, The Hulk, The Winter Soldier, War Machine, Okoye, and The Falcon. That's quite the team of Avengers but look closer and you'll notice that Steve is rocking a couple of very interesting looking gauntlets. Could those be the new "shield" T'Challa mention earlier?
Thor Meets The Guardians Of The Galaxy
There's no sign of the Guardians of the Galaxy in this trailer for Avengers: Infinity War but stick around long enough and they show up right at the end of this teaser for a confrontation with a very bemused and battered looking Thor. Groot is now an adolescent and the rest of the team look intrigued!
