Though we don't have very much to go on, we're hearing that Marvel Studios may be searching for a new writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
According to The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider, Jeff Loveness - who was enlisted to pen the next instalment of the superhero team-up franchise shortly after delivering his script for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - of "off" the project, and he parted ways with the movie before the WGA strike.
We have no idea what led to Loveness leaving The Kang Dynasty, but there's a decent chance Quantumania underperforming did have at least something to do with it. While the threequel wasn't the major flop it tends to be portrayed as, it definitely couldn't be considered a hit (it also became just the second ever "Rotten" MCU movie after a negative critical reception).
As far as we know, Loveness hadn't completed a draft of the script, but he definitely had a rough idea of the story. Will the studio go with a complete overhaul when they bring on a new writer? We'll just have to wait and see.
This is just a rumor for now, but if it is accurate, we expect the trades to confirm fairly soon. In the meantime, let us know what you make of this in the comments section.
