Avengers: Infinity War has broken record after record at the worldwide box office but fans are already starting to focus on what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie obviously set the stage for big things to come, specifically with Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel, a character whose imminent arrival was teased in an after-credits scene featuring the shocking death of Nick Fury.

A closer look at the pager he used to contact Carol Danvers can be found here alongside shots of Fury's demise, the arrival of the Secret Avengers in Wakanda, and Bucky's new arm being revealed.

As should already be apparent, major spoilers follow from this point on, so you really shouldn't be reading this if you haven't seen Avengers: Infinity War yet! Also in the gallery below are some "before" shots of various scenes which made use of VFX and those are also well worth checking out. So, to see the full list all you guys need to do is click on the "View List" button to see the
whole thing in one go.

Before...

Despite the fact we actually saw this scene being shot in Atlanta (many assumed it was for Captain Marvel), this part obviously took place in the studio as we see Nick Fury and Maria Hill in their SUV.

...After

And here, the street in front of these two has been added. It's never revealed which city this scene is supposed to take place in but it's presumably New York City or somewhere else in America.

Before...

People turning into dust has now become a meme despite how horrifying Avengers: Infinity War's ending was and here we get to see the work which went into creating that effect in the movie.

...After

The poor member of the public who finds himself turning into dust has now been added to this scene with Nick Fury as the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director runs to his car to retrieve something very important.

Before...

"Motherfu-" Poor Nick Fury clearly realised something was wrong when he ran back to his car and here we get to see what's left of him moments before that he vanishes and that pager falls to the ground.

...After

The story behind that pager will no doubt be addressed in Captain Marvel. Many fans believe that Fury was told only to use it if the Skrulls attack and it could be he thought that's what was happening.

Before...

...After

Behold the cosmic pager! This is clearly a mixture of human and alien tech and Captain Marvel will have its work cut out for it to explain where she's been all these years and why she hasn't aged.

Chaos Ensues

There's no "Before..." version of this shot but it shows the moment that helicopter crashed into a building, no doubt because the pilot found himself turning to dust. I guess he won't be returning!

...After

The Secret Avengers make their way into Wakanda in these great new shots from the movie and based on how well Steve Rogers seems to know the fictional African nation, he's been here since saying goodbye to Bucky at the end of Captain America: Civil War (something the Russos alluded to).

Return To Wakanda

As T'Challa and Okoye make their way through the plains of Wakanda with a delivery for the former Winter Soldier, we're quickly transported to Africa. However, the production never went there...

Before...

Instead, these scenes were shot in Atlanta and, as you can see below, special effects were used to replace the background and turn the American countryside into somewhere far more exotic.

After...

This is a gorgeous shot and one which shows the immense amount of work which went into creating Avengers: Infinity War's visuals and it's fair to say that Wakanda has never looked better!

...After

Well, damn, who would have guessed those huts were CGI? At least the kids and the cattle were real (surely it would have been easier to add the latter in post-production and build those structures?).

Bucky's New Arm

This is definitely the coolest arm Bucky has had to date but it is a shame that there's no star on the side. The question is, why did this turn to dust rather than just drop to the ground like his gun did?

The Big Apple

I'm pretty sure this is a look at the work which went into placing Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in New York City despite the fact the scene was more than likely shot in Atlanta rather than the Big Apple.

Space

This beautiful shot just shows how much work Marvel's talented team of visual effects artists put into creating those beautiful outer space scenes in Infinity War but I'm not sure I remember this one!
