WAR MACHINE Helmet Spotted In Disney's AGE OF ULTRON Special

Despite the mass disappointment brought on by the Disney TV special, something unexpected has come of it. It would appear there's a chance of Rhodey suiting up again after all. Hit the jump to check it out!

I think I speak as a member of the majority when I say that I was fairly underwhelmed by the recent Spot released by Disney giving us  a BTS look at the upcoming Marvel sequel. However, amidst all the corniness of it and quick flash-by imagery, someone managed to spot none other than a War Machine helmet on the set!

So, does this mean we'll be seeing Rhodey suit up in his traditional clunky grey and black armour? Do you look forward to seeing War Machine on screen again? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

With S.H.I.E.L.D. destroyed and the Avengers needing a hiatus from stopping threats, Tony Stark attempts to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program with Ultron, a self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence. However, his plan backfires when Ultron decides that humans are the main enemy and sets out to eradicate them from Earth, and it is up to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, along with support from Nick Fury and Maria Hill, to stop him from enacting his plans. Along the way, the Avengers encounter the powerful twins, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, as well as the familiar Vision.

If he becomes an Avenger I'm going to be very happy. If he suites up and actually gets some real action it'll be amazing.

War Machine was almost perfect in IM2. No more Iron Patriot please.

Haha, I didn't take the image myself, but yeah, I suppose finding it is somewhat detective work.

I think the red would stand out more if it was the Iron Patriot helmet.

Good find, I was just thinking Rhodey was going to kick it in AOU too, since we haven't seen War Machine in the promo art yet....

If he's in AOU, I'm definitely hoping we see the War Machine armor and not Iron Patriot armor

Whedon is a bit of a traditionalist, it's probably the War Machine armor!

@kinghulk — That concept armor is dope! If only.

Maybe we'll get Rhodey torn up a little bit and get eeding edge cyborg Rhodey.

On second thought, I don't know if that would work, people might confuse him for DC's Cyborg.

My point was that Rhodey might suit up not that he's in the movie.

I hope it's not Iron Patriot. I want War Machine!!

That's a tough one. I can clearly see the blue, but at the same time, it looks like the grey is just shining bright. Take a look at the Iron Man armor in the same image, and it's clearly very bright, so I guess at this point it's difficult to tell.

Iron Patriot made sense in IM3.
The government wanted to show it's patriotism and give confidence to the people. WAR machine wasn't a good name.
But now Iron Patriot has a bad image because it was used to do something bad so they let him go back to WarMachine.

One thing that I think IM3 did right...

War Machine is better than Iron Patriot

I love the new Iron Man armor, but I want a better look at the War Machine helmet. The picture shown in the article reminds me of a bigger clone trooper helmet from Attack of the Clone :P.

And here I was getting bashed for wanting him to get some action in the film. Even though he's no Avenger, (as many have told me) he still deserves to get in on some of the action, come on now. You've got James Rhodes in an Avengers film and you don't want him to suit up at least once? He'll probably become a part of Caps "West Coast Avengers" by the time the film is over. Hoping to see Ultron or one of his drones severely do damage to Rhodes which'll give him his robotic facials features like in the comics.

If hes with the avengers now itd make sense to go back to war machine since the gov has Iron Patriot

Happened to be watching Rebels with my son this morning and paid more attention to this clip. Definitely not any red or blue, but I also suspect he isn't war machine but rather Iron Man 2.0, which would lead into another Iron Man sequel.
