CBM VOTES: Ant-Man & Wasp Should Be In The Avengers!

A little under 2000 of you voted and a huge majority of you have said that Ant-Man and The Wasp deserve to be a part of the team in the 2012 epic...

Three days ago, I posted a poll asking whether or not you guys think that Hank and Jan deserve a place on the team in The Avengers. Despite the recent news reports that seem to indicate they wont be there come 2012, many of you clearly dont agree with Marvel Studios' decision as the below results prove!

YES! It's essential that they're part of the team!

1,146 Votes (59.19%)

NO! I'm ok with the team that was announced at Comic Con!

439 Votes (22.68%)

MAYBE! I'm not really bothered either way!

351 Votes (18.13%)

Well, I'm not going to say that I'm surprised by the results although I was a little shocked to see just how many of you said you were ok with them waiting to introduce the duo until after the Ant-Man solo movie! However, I can fully appreciate that, because despite the fact I think they should be in The Avengers (and that they could easily be introduced in a small scene) I suppose it does make sense that Marvel Studios wait until they've introduced them elsewhere. It makes sense, but the fanboy inside me is crying. Share your thoughts about these results in the usual place and thanks for voting! :)

Looking forward to this movie. But the only thing I'm worried about is the film's antagonist. The only Marvel villains I think are perfect for an epic film like this are Dr. Doom and Galactus, but they belong to th Fantastic Four series. idk

Like I said before. Without Ant-Man, there's no Ultron, and without Ultron, there's no Avengers.

I would rather they be introduced in some slight way in Avengers, but I don't really want to see them have a major role only because I think that because they were key members to the Avengers comic that they need to be fully introduced in their own movie. Otherwise, I'm afraid the movie will have that Spider-Man 3 problem of too many characters, and no character development. After all, there's only going to be 1 1/2 to 2 hours of screen time.

Thanks guys! :) I'd be lying to say that I'm not pleased with these results! I mean, I'll probably still
enjoy this movie if they're not there but The Avengers without Hank and Jan? That just aint right IMO.

Patrick Wilson and Morena Baccarin definitely!
Thanos as the villain!
Sturmpionier

They only need large buildup if they are going to need it for a large role in the movie. If they have limited character roles like in the Ultimate Avengers cartoon, they only need limited introduction. It does not take much explaining for a giant smashing things and a wasp flying around and stinging things. Right now, our line up includes Black Widow who had little real character buildup (ok, she's a spy; she's secretive; speaks Latin; and is great at martial arts) and Hawkeye, who, I would like to point out, has had exactly the same amount of character introduction thus far as the Pyms; ZERO!

If Marvel is ok for this approach for Hawkeye, why not Hank and Jan who are guaranteed a favorable fanboy response.

Ant-Man (or Gaint Man) & The Wasp should be in the roster. It will have that classic feel to it aswell as making it more modern IMO. Plus, you'll need a couple of good scientists to help thaw out Cap. :D
@LEEE777- I'm not so sure about Patrick Wilson for this role. Morena Baccarin is perfect for the job. That pic you posted of her... SOOOOO HOT! Mmmmmmm, yummy. ;)

Should Hank and Jan be in the Avengers. Sure. Do they have to be in order for Marvel to put out a blockbuster success? Not really. Yes, there would be disappointed CBM fans, but in the big scheme of things, the film should still rock without them. If they do put them in the movie, I do hope it is just as scientists, because I think they will have a hard time translating Ant Man and Wasp to the big screen.

I AM VINDICATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ant-man is a little corny of a character
but not Giant-man or what I like better,

together like Baseball & hot dogs!

Marvel is making a huge BLUNDER not having
them in the 1st AVENGERS! 'NUFF SAID!

No G.I.Ant Man = No Ultron = No Vision = No Scarlet Witch Romance = No Disassembled/ No "No more mutants" and certainly no more Young Avengers.

We need "the Giant and the Fairy" or we don't get "the Ghost".

@Superman17- The Avengers have a large roster of big villains. Among the most famous and recurring include Kang the Conqueror(Time), Thanos(Cosmic), Ultron(Tech) etc.

So 1,146 voted yes, and 790 either didn't mind, or voted no. And this from a poll posted on a CBM comic book site. If almost half of true die-hard comic book movie fans don't care, imagine how many average movie-goes around the world will mind even less.

Listen, I love comic books, and I especially love comic book movies, and it would be a neat little easter egg to introduce Hank and Jan in a little cameo somewhere in the film. But the film already has eight leads playing heroes. Throw in a bad guy or two, and this movie is crowded enough as it is.

Besides, Iron Man 2 has already taken it's share of hits for being too watered down paving the way for The Avengers with cameos. Is it any wonder they don't want to water down the largest ensemble cast of heroes in movie history to pave the way for the Ant Man movie? You gotta save something for the sequel, guys.

There are continuity issues in CBMs I disagree with. Making Superman a dead-beat dad who impregnated Lois, then erased her memory and left the planet for several years to raise the baby alone... THAT I am opposed to.

Letting Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Nick Fury get some decent screen time in a two hour Avengers #1 movie as much as possible? Ummm... Not so much.

Remember the flack Spider-Man 3 got because Venom got very little screen time? Or Gambit in X-Men:Wolverine? The same will happen to all our heroes if we insist on seeing Hank and Janet Pym, when we could actually be focusing on the already established heroes in Marvel's movie universe.

Hank and Janet will get their own movie, then be back for Avengers 2. Seriously, they deserve that. It's more than Hawkeye is getting, or Black Widow, or even Nick Fury.

Fair is fair. But we gotta get real, guys. There's only so much you can squeeze into a two, or two-and-a-half, hour movie without disappointing somebody.

BTW, I have accepted no Hank & Jan in the 1st
AVENGERS. But they sure better be in AV2!

I'm not some kind of crank or Troll! Just pissed
off that Marvel is going at this bassackwards!
Hank & Jan should be in there before Black Widow
and Hawkeye and Hawkeye is my favorite AVENGER!

BLACK WIDOW was intro-ed so badly it's painful
yet everybody accepts it and are saying hardly
anything about it! There is no reason on earth
that Hank & Jan can't be intro-ed the same way
but in a superior way in AVENGERS 1!

And the too many heroes already argument doesn't
hold any water! It's just a sick excuse people
are making in Marvel's behalf! What? Do you guys
work for Marvel or something? LOL

I for one am not going to let them off the hook
so easily! I'll begrudgingly accept it and go
see AV1 but I don't like it one bit!!!!!!!
