Digital Spy reports that David Tennant, the man famously known as the tenth Doctor Who, is now rumored to be the new Bruce Banner!

The Lost Angeles Times claims that David Tennant is the latest actor to be in talks for the role of Dr. Bruce Banner, better known as THE HULK, in the upcoming 2012 film, The Avengers!

The ex-Doctor Who star has been linked to the superhero role recently vacated by Edward Norton along with Predators actor Adrien Brody and Serenity's Nathan Fillion. Recent online rumors surfaced claiming that Joaquin Phoenix had been offered the role of Bruce Banner in the ensemble blockbuster. Marvel insiders have said that a "name" replacement for Norton will be announced at Comic-Con or earlier.


Tennant had at one point expressed interest in playing The Riddler for Christopher Nolan's third Batman outing.

"The Avengers" will be directed by Joss Whedon, and star Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson. Rumored cast members include Jeremy Renner, Nathan Fillion, Eva Longoria, and now David Tennant.

David Tennant hun? I can think of better choices but I'd be ok with him playing Bruce Banner!

It is all BS. We need an A-list with low salary so he can be at the same level as RDJ. Norton was even higher then RDJ. Lets hope Marvel bring back and resurrect a talented actor. Joaquin is an interesting choice but I still think he is not the man.

i feel this movie is going to fail after edward norton left

Great choice. David Tennant is a great actor and has serious potential, and is just waiting to become Hollywood's next big star, and this could really help. Plus he will bring something new to the table as Bruce Banner and could be better then Edward Norton. Great choice and I hope it's true.

Plus he does have a history of playing characters who often change their face, and he was the best at it.

Funny, Tennant was one of the first names that came to mind when thinking of who could play Banner.

But right now I've got my hopes set on Ryan Gosling. He look enough like Norton that the transition between the two actors wouldn't be so jarring when watching all these movies in a row.
