Some time ago, we heard
word that Joss Whedon's highly-anticipated
Avenges film will not only assemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes against a menacing Jade Giant controlled by the God of Mischief, but also an alien race of shapeshifters invading; in some form or way. Coming from
Ain't It Cool News, the rumor of The Skrulls & The Kree appearing has resurfaced with their source stating:
"'The Avengers' script will blend 'Iron Man', 'Thor', and 'Captain America: The First Avenger' story lines as the Avengers battle with two alien races, the Skrulls and the Kree."
UPDATE: Harry has found that the quote above came from a local newspaper, covering the
New Mexico filming.
Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles clarifies that this isn't confirmation, therefore should be taken with a grain of salt. However, I've come to the conclusion that Marvel Studios will in fact use alien races in some form or way for future installments if not included prominently in the original
Avengers film. So don't instantly assume everything will be jam-packed in the original movie.
Also, the strong possibility of Loki appearing in the film, which latest rumors suggest that he'll be one if not the main baddie, making room for the Skrulls, the Kree, and of course The Incredible Hulk. I've heard in one of the many
THOR set visits that there is concept art of Loki in earth form; business-type suit, which makes that rumor even more plausible. What do you think?
But with all this heavy speculation, there is a 2nd draft for the film out & about, so it's not too early for them not to be true. Anyhow,
The Avengers will assemble for sure on May 4, 2012 in 3D.
