Production for Joss Whedon's The Avengers is coming to Ohio and according to reports they need a lot of extras for the film.

WEWS News in Ohio has found out that The Avengers are looking for about 2000 extras for the up coming production.



Reports WEWS News:

Marvel Studios will hire more than 2,000 people to have bit parts in the new movie "The Avengers" when filmmakers begin shooting in August. The production will be the largest feature film ever made in Ohio. The Avengers will be filmed in various parts of the city over a two-month period. If you are interested in being in this film you should send a resume to [email protected]. Cleveland area residents could receive anywhere from $50 to $100 dollars daily for their work on the film and will receive free meals.

Staring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, and Scarlett Johansson The Avengers will start filming in may with a release date of May 4, 2012

Does the movie itself start filming in august or just the shots in Ohio. Filming starts in the beginning of May right?

StrangerX @ I think this is such a big production that principle photography started awhile ago but only establishing shots and basic stuff, etc. Also filming test shots for concepts designs is also probably well underway.

I don't think the main cast get together until May but that doesn't mean some stuff isn't in the can already.

Considering the amount of post production that has got to take place I am guessing they are pretty much ready to roll by now. Otherwise they simply won't have the time to do the effects.

I live in Sandusky, Ohio and the NASA facility they're planning on using is about 4 mile from my house!! I'm SO pumped for this movie!! Definitely going to try and be an extra. Cleveland is only about 30 miles so I'll be heading there to try and be an extra too! When they start filming I'll try and see what pics I can get for everybody.

Just to clear up this article, right now they are only hiring crew for the movie. They won't be looking for and screening extras for at least a few more weeks if not longer. you can go to http://www.clevelandfilm.com/ to check for updates and stuff like that. I can't wait!!!!
