GOTHAM KNIGHTS Bat Family Video Game Finally Gets A Release Date

It's been a long time coming, but WB Games Montréal has finally announced a release date for their Bat Family adventure Gotham Knights, and it sounds like it'll arrive just in time for the holiday season.

WB Games Montréal announced today that their highly-anticipated Bat Family video game, Gotham Knights, will finally arrive in stores on October 25, 2022.

For the first time ever, gamers won't play as Batman, but will instead take control of one of his protégés - Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, or Red Hood - and be tasked with finding the truth behind their mentor's sudden demise while also simultaneously protecting Gotham from the Court of Owls and other yet-to-be-revealed threats.

While it was originally expected to arrive in 2021, the game was delayed at the top of last year to allow developers “more time to deliver the best possible experience for players,” and it sounds like the extra year gave them all the time they needed to get the project ready to release this fall.

The action RPG, which will have both single-player and multiplayer modes, is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows platforms.

Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.

Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet. In either solo-play or with one other hero, patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it.

If this is anything like the Avengers game I will pass.

@kirklazarus87 - If anything, I’d think it’d be more like the Arkham games, but with a co-op mode.

@LeonNova - Doesn't seem to be much like the Arkham Games. The entire combat system is completely different because the Arkham combat only works in single player.

Hopefully the show is another Superman and Lois/Star Girl

Not another Batwoman/Current Flash

If anything at least the story will be interesting. No way Batman is dead dead too.

@Lokiwasright - more like this Batman absent addiction.

Every piece of media that is based on the Batman mythos keeps finding ways to take him of the board. Could easily just make him part of the story whilst being present.

Arkham Knight did it first

Being able to use all of these characters is how Arkham Knight should have ended. They dropped the ball HARD with the ending of that game.

@SummersEssex - But....you could play as all these characters in Knight???

There is so much this game has to do right to be a good live service game. Could easily be another Avengers or Fallout 76

Pitiful how now game systems cutscenes look realistic but playing games still cartoony unrealistic as much money these systems cost think game play will be same level as cutscenes
