Recently I read up on the reception of Batman Returns by critics when it was first released and realized there were many similarities between its original reception and the current reception of Batman v Superman. Here are some similar complaints, tell me what you think was better in the comments:

  •  A villains plan that didn't make sense. Penguin v. Lex Luthor
  • A main character that overshadows what should be the real main character: Catwoman v. Batman(snyder version)
  • It was dark: Snyder v. Burton
  • The main character's personality was barely explored: Batman(burton) v. Superman
  • Batman was a killer: batman v. Batman
So, which did you think was the better movie and why? Tell me in the comments below. ( I think Batman Returns was better, just saying)

I guess I'm one of the few that was actually stunned by how deep, and clever, Luthor's plan was.
I did, however, have some issues with how he was portrayed, but the plan was rather solid.

Also, Superman is not the main character in BvS. He's one of the main characters, but not the main character.

I agree that the limited amount of killings through collateral damage that Batman does is unnecessary. Instead of blowing up the cars, he could have fired some kind of gas that would have incapacitated the henchmen, but not killed them.
