We're still not sure whether Ben Affleck will return as Bruce Wayne/Batman for Warner Bros.' next solo Dark Knight outing or not, but Matt Reeves is most definitely still at the helm, and the War for The Planet of The Apes director has now given fans an update on the film's status.

Conflicting Reports Continue To Emerge About Ben Affleck Returning To Play BATMAN - Here's The Latest

He doesn't go into any detail, but during an interview with The Q & A Podcast, Reeves does reveal that he has finally "worked out the story" and is now outlining the script.

Again, not a whole lot to go on, but at least we have confirmation that the overall plot has been mapped out - even if Reeves hasn't settled on how it'll be structured just yet.

DC/WB/DCEU obviously don't know what the hell they're doing, so until something solid happens they can kiss my a** with these updates.

I am as big a batman fan as the next guy, but I wouldn't mind seeing a good five years without him on screen.

I think I’m over this and I’m ready to move on from Affleck. Put someone in the role who will commit and give 100% to this franchise. How can you have a shared movie universe if one of the actors can’t commit to the universe. Either own it or move on Affleck just seems to affected by the role in his day to day life I don’t think he can handle this commitment.

@slickrickdesigns - Um...Hulk is my response to this. I mean really, Affleck gave it his best with each of the movies.

It amuses me that Affleck felt he had to step away because of the pressure to get a script in and start shooting the film, and here we are in 2018 and his replacement Reeves has only just “worked out the story” for the film.
