THE BATMAN B-Roll Footage Reveals Fascinating Behind-The-Scenes Look At Matt Reeves' DC Comics Adaptation

Warner Bros. has shared the B-Roll footage for The Batman, and while it's a tad spoilery here and there, it primarily reveals a fascinating glimpse into the work that went into bringing this story to life.

As we all wait with bated breath for The Batman to arrive in theaters, B-Roll footage for the DC Comics adaptation has surfaced that offers a glimpse into how the movie was made. As well as behind-the-scenes shots from various action scenes (including Selina Kyle's brawl with the Caped Crusader), the Batmobile sees some action, and we get a closer look at Batman's new cowl.

It's also an interesting surprise to see the same type of LED video wall used in The Mandalorian on The Batman's set. Giving Pattinson's vigilante a Gotham City to look out over, it was clearly incredibly useful to director Matt Reeves on a number of levels. As well as giving the actors more than a green screen, it no doubt saved the crew from attempting to travel during the pandemic.

There may be some mild spoilers in this video, so we'd suggest watching with caution!

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham City.

Joining Robert Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.

Gotham was terrible. Not sure why anyone is looking back at that show fondly but I just watched the first season.

@billnye69 - Gotham is one of the cringiest shows I think I've ever seen. The writing and performances were so bad.

@regularmovieguy - It had it's moments, but yeah everyone's going ham in Gotham literally. Monaghan was good, and I'm still not sure why Disney won't lean into a show or at least do a Cal Kestis cameo.

@The1st - Agreed, it had the briefest of moments spread across it's run, but it was quite bad overall. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. The Penguin and Riddler actors did decent with what they had to work with.

@The1st - how do you know they won’t? We’ve basically just had 3 seasons of the mandolorian so far, give it a few years.. I’d rather see an appearance from Kyle Katarn..

@Chasekeane - Perhaps I should have said to this point... In anycase, I would be surprised if we ever got actual Kyle Katarn. Especially after what they did to Jaina & Jacen in the sequel trilogy.

To your point though:

@Chasekeane - I feel our boi Kyle Katarn no longer fits in Canon. Luke seemed to only have trained a select few and seeing as Kylo wiped them out, I don't think Katarn was there

Damn the muscle car is really growing on me. Just helps to differentiate this Batman even more from previous versions, and it makes perfect sense for a fairly new Batman that's even more of a loner than other versions.

Wayne Manor in that last shot looks like it’s more city based, rather than being in the rural outskirts. Which would make more sense as to why he uses an old Wayne subway line as the Batcave, perhaps it’s connected beneath the main house.
