Like I said before, it's low resolution, but do we ever get tired of arguing about how good or how bad Bane's costume is? Nolanites and Marvelites, it's time to viciously attack each other. Enjoy!

An angry tiny bane. Good job nolan! We love it when u take fantastical characters and make them realistic... Stick with normal villains like riddler. U make good movies but we wana see comic books brought to life!

This looks good! Shows the costume concept isn't bad. Perhaps Tom Hardy's size and the cinematography used to make him appear big is the problem. Bane's not going to be a hulking wrestler, he's a militant leader, a beast, with a mask inspired by Silverback Gorrilas, a physical manifestation of Bruce Wayne's pain, and a person who will summon the end to Batman. I'm excited.

Those of you saying that "Bane looks beast" and huge, etc... are not looking at the actual pictures! You're looking at the STICKERS. Those are DRAWN! Bane is NOT going to be THAT huge... you're dreaming! Nolan has taken a character from the Batman Universe and has, not only taken 'liberties'... he's completely changed him! Just because he hasn't made Bane a bumbling, pro-wrestler as he was in the infamously horrible BATMAN & ROBIN, doesn't mean that he's stuck any closer to the source material of the comics. Tom Hardy is a fine actor, and he's in pretty good shape... but is he at all even close to Bane? Absolutely not. Thus, the stupid lamb's wool drifter he's sporting most of the time.
@Monstalova has it pegged... Nolan makes great movies, but we want to see our comics come to life! Of course, I'll pay and go see this, but I'm saddened that we'll have to wait forever to see this done right... and the truth is... we probably never will.
Nolan, go make your crime dramas and leave super heroes to those that love them. Bring on the Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man (two movies that are at least sticking to the source material).

I don't care much about how big/small Bane is, honestly. Sure, it would've been cool to see him as big as he was in Knightfall, but I'm just thrilled that the character will be a villainous mastermind akin to the comic version. The way that he deserves to be portrayed (even with a subpar mask).

Have you seen "This Means War"?

It's horrible. But besides that fact, Tom Hardy is WAAAAYYY short! There's one scene where he's stepping off an elevator next to the other actor (the pretty boy from Star Trek) and he's like 10 inches shorter!

Listen, I'm not putting the guy down, he's a great actor. But WHO CAST THIS GUY? Bane is known for TWO things: First, he's incredibly smart. Second, he's incredibly BIG.

I'm not trying to be a douche here, just frustrated when everyone is drinking the cool-aid on Nolan and his ridiculous casting decisions.

You know if anybody other than nolan had portrayed 'bane' this way then people would be creaming for his head. But nolan gets away with anything. Anything nolan squats and sh!ts out his worshippers will claim is brilliant and lick it up off the floor like it was a gourmet meal.

PSUDO-BANE looks like UTTER CRAP!

He has taken an iconic comicbook character and turned him into a watered down 'I don't know what'.

And the nolanites cheer him on.

I'm not worried about Banes size or costume, in fact I'm not worried at all for this upcoming blockbuster. Nolan has hit bulls-eye twice before, so I have every confidence that he knows what he's doing.
PaulRom
PaulRom - 2/23/2012, 3:18 PM
@Coldblood6 If someone else was portraying Bane as much of a mastermind as he is in the comics (though looking entirely different from the comic version), I'd say the same thing.

Sweep the Razzies? Yeah, in your wet dreams. Looks as Oscar worthy as Warrior, 127 Hours, Return Of The King and Drive.

You people are so stupid. Do you not realize that to portray Bane's comic book size on actual film would not look good. Also to the people complaining that Nolan didn't use the comic book luchador mask, do you not realize how ugly that would have been for a live action film? Get over it its still Bane and he looks alot more intimidating the way he is cause Tom Hardy looks massive from what we have seen. Would you rather them have taken the X-men 3 route and give him muscles like they did Vinnie Jones?

@Hipsters... Really?

Thor was cartoony? What were you needing it to be that it wasn't? Seriously? Was the actor they cast to play THOR not in good enough shape? Was he not tall enough? Did he not look the part enough for ya? Was his accent not 'THORISH' enough for ya? Was it soooo much better than the ridiculous, un-understandable Bane dialogue we've been privileged to try and decipher?

How exactly is a superhero movie NOT supposed to be cartoony? Should it have been like KICK-ASS? SUPER?

You, along with most of these other posters, have no clue what you're talking about because your head is stuck so far up Nolan's south-end, you obviously can't see clearly.

...
why does it matter what bane looks like? As long as he is a physical threat with a strategic mind that can go toe to toe and even beat Batman, I'm fine. It's a movie adaptation from a director that has taken liberties with the character all the way up through the series. IMO he's done a good job.

If you like how bane is portrayed in the comics, then read the comics. I love comics, and there are things that comics do better than movies do, and there are things movies do better than comics. Appreciate both.

I concur with Supes17.

If this would be butthurt cream for you Trudey, I think the same thing of The Avengers. Unfortunately, it'll probably be snubbed at the Oscars next year.

I still don't understand why people can't be a Marvel and DC fanboy instead of having to pick one of the other. While I do think the Avengers is going to be amazing I don't see it as being Oscar worthy at all.
