That 'Robin' Costume In BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE May Not Belong To 'Jason Todd'
Will Batman v Superman change the Dark Knight's mythos in a game changing way? Details on that Robin costume have been revealed, and it seems like they still haven't decided who it belongs to.
Could The Joker be responsible for the death of a Robin who isn't Jason Todd? Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Geoff Johns confirms that the appearance of that defaced costume is setting the stage for something bigger down the line, revealing that it's never specified in Batman v Superman who donned that suit to fight crime alongside the Caped Crusader. "We’ll be exploring that. No one says specifically the name of which Robin that is." In all honesty though, it seems likely that they'll stick to Jason Todd. Still, making it Dick Grayson could also work (he does return completely insane in the sequel to The Dark Knight Returns remember) though that would be a big waste of Nightwing.
Asked about whether he'll be taking on the responsibility of telling that story, Ben Affleck responded: "It’s in development, and right now I’m really focused on finishing Live By Night. That’s where my focus is, and I tend to be a one movie at a time guy. So, when I’m finished with this movie, I’ll then focus on my next movie and figure out what that will be." Johns meanwhile went on to talk more about how that Robin suit factors into the greater narrative of this movie. "You can extrapolate that if Batman kept his suit like that, it's a reminder. He’s displayed the suit of a fallen ally, fallen friend in the center of the Batcave. It’s right there for a reason, and part of it is to fuel him to continue to do what he does."
