There has been a lot of talk lately about why Marvel Studios isn't making a Black Widow film. While many people are in favor of seeing this film get green-lit, Marvel execs say otherwise. With over 30,000 searchable files leaked from Sony-Marvel emails, one surfaced that revealed Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter and Sony CEO Michael Lynton exchanging a message that seemingly reveals why Marvel doesn't want to move forward with a Black Widow film, and many female-superhero films in general. Check it out below!

Michael,
As we discussed on the phone, below are just a few examples. There are more.
Thanks,
Ike
1. Electra (Marvel) – Very bad idea and the end result was very, very bad.http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=elektra.htm
2. Catwoman (WB/DC) - Catwoman was one of the most important female character within the Batmanfranchise. This film was a disaster. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=catwoman.htm
3. Supergirl – (DC) Supergirl was one of the most important female super hero in Superman franchise. This Movie came out in 1984 and did $14 million total domestic with opening weekend of $5.5 million. Again, another disaster.
Best,
Ike
Even though this leaked email shows that Marvel isn't quite confident with female-led superhero films, we are getting a Captain Marvel film set to hit theaters November 2, 2018. Will we ever see a Black Widow movie get put on the big screen? It's not likely, but I'm sure if it were to happen, everyone would be in favor of it! What do you think about Ike Perlmutter and Michael Lynton's thoughts? Also, what other female heroes would you like to see get their own film? Sound off below with your thoughts!
