Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Tenoch Huerta has taken to social media to seemingly respond to those leaked images that offered a first look at him suited up as Namor the Submariner. Check it out...

Over the weekend, a first look at Namor the Submariner in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever found its way online. Promo art showing characters prior to their "official" unveiling has become commonplace, with Ms. Marvel, The Flash's Batman, and the entire Eternals cast just a few of the most recent examples.

The response to Marvel Studios' redesigned Namor has been a little mixed, though mostly because the MCU will put a different spin on the anti-hero. Borrowing heavily from South American and Mayan imagery, this Namor is definitely different, but we'd argue that actor Tenoch Huerta still looks the part (for what should be an exciting reimagining of the King of Atlantis).

Now, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star has taken to Twitter to respond to those leaks!

Sharing a photo of SpongeBob SquarePants' Mermaid Man, the caption below translates to, "Tenoch images are leaked..." Clearly, he's having some fun with what's happened, and we're sure he's noticed at least some of the complaints being made about how the character looks.

Comic accurate or not, Namor was always going to look a little silly on screen, though we'd give Marvel Studios credit for at least trying to ground the character and tie him to real-life history. Ultimately, he still looks like Namor and even has wings on his feet. As a result, why some fans are so horrified by this take on the Black Panther sequel's antagonist is more than a little baffling.

There's a lot of intrigue surrounding how Namor and Atlantis will factor into this movie, especially with T'Challa no longer part of the MCU following Chadwick Boseman's tragic death. Hopefully, a trailer is imminent because we'd love to finally get a better idea of what to expect.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11, later this year!

@manofillintent1 - It's the supid nose thing and earrings that are so distracting for me. And yeah, the beard really needs to go lol

@manofillintent1 - I think more than anything it's the fact that they're tying the history of Atlantis to a specific region and civilization, in this case the Mayans I believe (can't remember). Anyway, that looks like it's likely mostly ceremonial, and I could see Namor looking more akin to what we've seen in the comics in other parts of the film. T'Challa, for example, wasn't in the suit all the time. When he wasn't he was wearing garb very much in line for Wakanda, so basically African attire to keep it simple. I don't know how I feel about the nose ring, but it's accurate if that's the route they chose to go. I'm just saying I don't expect him to be rocking that look the entire film, it's just a promo image after all.

@manofillintent1 -
Nah, he looks ridiculous and they appropriated the Aztec/Mayan culture in kind of an offensive way.

@Scarilian - the actor is Mexican so it wasn’t appropriated.

@Scarilian - What exactly is offensive about how they are portraying Mayan/Aztec culture?

@LongMayHeReign - That person just loves speaking for others.

@Scarillian - In what way is this appropriation and how is it offensive? By your logic does the same apply for the Black Panther mythos with Wakanda?

Seriously...? "He's got wings on his feet, so shut up and consume product!"

@pestulio07 - I do like the look but yeah saying someone should like it because of the ankle wings is not a great argument. Having said that, I do like the wings though, nice detail that is important to his look. Like the pointy years (something missing in Black Adam).

@pestulio07 - I kind of agree with him on this one, but I don't understand why he keeps including his opinion in articles like it's common sense, when half the people around here think different. Seems a little patronizing sometimes.

@pestulio07 - pointy ears, green trunks, and winged feet. Checks out.

@pestulio07 - He could lose the ankle wings,that wouldn't be a problem,I just want him to lose all the feathers completely. 🤣

Is Black Panther 2 even about Black Panther anymore? I'm still so unsure of how they will address the loss of Boseman and it feels like they are attempting to fill such large shoes with a toddlers feet....We need to see something good from this film. I hope it doesn't flop.

@PC04 - That's why it's renamed to Wakanda Forever

@PC04 -
Chadwick Boseman is dead and Disney cannot leech off him anymore, so they are trying as quick as they can to trample over his desire to be an inspiration, avoid recasting his character, destroy his legacy as King in order to establish Shuri who nobody liked and is played by an actress who cost them countless millions due to refusing to get vaccinated.

@Scarilian - she's actually smart for not getting the vax. it doesn't stop transmission or symptoms, so in actuality it doesn't even matter whether she's vaxxed or not. sounds like she used critical thinking and realizing mRNA has never been tested on humans until these vaccines. they've been developing this technology for 20 years and couldn't get it to work, but somehow got it to work in 3 months. yeah, ok. Also, the vaccine companies are to release studies and information, the 1st of every month, they tried to keep dormant for 55 years, but a judge forced them to release the information. It's not good. and also, Walgreens released their studies, also not good. If you can do basic math and read charts all signs point to bad. But everyone can make their own choice. It's just too bad no one has a critical thought anymore. They just take Spoonfuls of bs straight up their butts

@Fogs - It's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Still references Black Panther. I just shortened it because everyone knows it's BP2

@PC04 - If the rumors of T'Challa's son are true we might have a glimpse of the new BP, maybe. Even if just a promise.

It will probably deal with the lack of the proper BP, perhaps the power vacuum and all that.

@Fogs - That seems like a cool way to go with it. It sucks so hard that the world lost Chadwick. I'm really hoping they make this a great tribute to his memory and the great job he did as BP.
