Last month, we got the disappointing (but inevitable) news that Marvel had decided to postpone the theatrical release of Black Widow and push the movie into next year. The announcement pretty much brought an end to the marketing campaign, but we are still seeing some new promo material find its way online.
This latest still accompanies Marie's Claire's interview with stars Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh, and gives us a new (well, a different angle of a previously released shot) look at their characters, as Natasha Romanoff prepares to speed into action on a motorcycle with Yelena Belova along for the ride.
Johansson also shared her thoughts on the movie being moved to mid-2021.
“I’d been talking to Kevin Feige”—the president of Marvel Studios—“about it, and our fellow producers, just trying to understand what the landscape was,” said the actress when asked about the delay. “We’re all eager to get the movie out, but more important than anything, everybody wants the experience to feel safe, to have people be able to really feel confident about sitting in an enclosed theater.”
Check out the new pic below along with some photos from Johansson and Pugh's Marie Claire shoot.
"In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."
Black Widow also stars David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Olivier Richters.
