After less than two weeks of release, Captain America: Civil War has hit the $700 million mark at the worldwide box office. After opening in North America with an impressive $179.1 million (which means it had the fifth highest debut of all-time), it added $13.3 million on Monday to take its four day total up to $192.5 million. Overseas, the Marvel movie brought in an additional $18.8 million yesterday, making its overseas total $512.8 million. A whopping $104.6 million of that has so far come from China.
With a current haul $705.3 million worldwide, Captain America: Civil War is currently the 83rd highest grossing release in history ad should crack the top 25 by the end of its run after sailing past the $1 billion mark. As of right now, Marvel's first Phase 3 movie looks set to be the highest grossing live-action summer blockbuster, a sign perhaps that X-Men: Apocalypse isn't going to pose too much of a threat later this month. Captain America: The Winter Soldier earned $714.4 million back in 2014.
