It was only yesterday that we told you Captain America: Civil War had reached $800 million worldwide, but the latest numbers are in and Marvel's first Phase 3 movie has now reached a colossal $940.8 million worldwide. That puts it way ahead of Deadpool ($762.4 million) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($868.8 million), and makes it 2016's highest grossing superhero movie (a crown it's unlikely to lose to either X-Men: Apocalypse or Doctor Strange later this month and in November).
This weekend, Captain America: Civil War earned $72.5 million domestically and $84.2 million overseas in order to add $156 million it its worldwide cume. Now that it has a total of $645 million internationally, the movie is the four highest grossing comic book movie ever behind only The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Iron Man 3. It's currently in sixth place worldwide. China has obviously been a big help, earning the critically acclaimed release a whopping $155 million to date.
