Mark Ruffalo has let yet another cat out of the MCU bag, confirming that he will reprise the role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk for Captain America: Brave New World...

We can hear Kevin Feige yelling down the phone from hear.

Over the years, Mark Ruffalo has gained a bit of a reputation for letting the occasional detail about the MCU slip during interviews, and the Poor Things star was at it again while speaking about his career after being presented with the 2024 Santa Barbara International Film Festival American Riviera Award.

Though there were rumors that Ruffalo was set for an appearance in the movie, the actor confirmed that he will reprise the role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. He didn't provide any details, but this means we could potentially see the Green Goliath face-off against Red Hulk.

Unfortunately, Ruffalo also shared some bad news. While speaking about the possibility of another solo Hulk movie, the actor said he doesn't "want to burst anyone's bubble," but he's been told that it is definitely not going to happen.

When asked if "that's still the case" today, he replied, "as far as I know" - although he did add that he's "not really allowed to talk about it."

UPDATE: Variety is now claiming that Ruffalo "misspoke" when he said he'd be in Brave New World.

We recently got confirmation that additional photography has been scheduled right up until May or June, with Marvel enlisting Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton to pen new scenes and material for the film.

Reshoots are the norm (especially for major studio tentpoles), but this extensive period of AP has led to speculation that the studio might be making some significant changes to the story.

One rumor points to the movie's action sequences being the biggest issue, so it's possible these reshoots are simply to beef up existing scenes or add some new set pieces.

The fourth Captain America movie started shooting on March 21 at Trilith Studios, Atlanta, before moving to Washington, DC. The strikes previously impacted several other Marvel Studios productions, but we thought Brave New World had managed to avoid any significant delays until the film was pushed to 2025.

We've seen quite a few set photos do the rounds online, some of which featured members of the villainous group known as the Serpent Society. We also got a look at Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) suited-up in his new Cap costume, and Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) sporting a fairly comic-accurate outfit as the MCU's new Falcon.

Anthony Mackie will reprise his The Falcon and the Winter Soldier role as new Sentinel of Liberty, Sam Wilson, and he'll be joined by Shira Haas as Israeli superheroine Sabra, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, and Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader.

Specific plot details are still under wraps, but rumor has it the story will see Samuel Sterns revealed as the "secret benefactor" behind the Serpent Society. What this will entail is not clear, but we assume he'll be funding the group and possibly providing them with tech.

Hulk and She-Hulk make sense. Especially with Red Hulk being a byproduct of She-Hulk's DNA. And Captain America recruiting She-Hulk would work for the New Avengers lineup that will get decimated by The Beyonder.

@SonOfAGif - I really do hope they recruit she hulk and soon. Her personality is ripe for the team dynamics

@SonOfAGif - When I was a kid there was a Hulk animated series where they did an experiment to transfer/add to Bruce being able to control Hulk like his cousin. Right after the experiment Hulk snapped and a fight between the 2 ensued. Bruce eventually got control but later in the episode he lost control again.

If they didn't already do the s**tty 'smart hulk' thing that would have been cool to see on the big-screen. They fight, Bruce gets control, they team up against red hulk, but Bruce eventually loses control again.

Unfortunately the interest isn't there anymore so a supporting cast is necessary. Not Sam's fault. I blame marvel for taking too long to give him a solo

@AmazingFILMporg - sounds more like they just shouldn't make a movie that has basically no interest.

What was that you said before about marvel learning?

@Origame - First 2 Thor's sucked, so they bring in Hulk.

@dracula - Marvel Studios has to shove Hulk in wherever they can because Disney doesn't have rights to a solo Hulk movie. Lol.

Powerless captain America gonna need all the help he can get versus red hulk. Not trashing on Sam but it’s just the reality of it.

@Pathogen - he was just given some lame storylines, the Sakaar arc was the highpoint and Even then it was kind of a waste. Unpopular opinión but Ed Norton was way better as Banner

@Saga - I don’t think that’s an unpopular opinion; I think that’s in the majority: outside of The Avengers, Norton’s Banner and Hulk outshine Ruffalo’s.

@Feralwookiee - I mean it makes sense following Iger's comments on focusing only on the profitable sequels and franchises. TIH was under Universal and was the lowest grossing MCU movie before the marvels, and She-Hulk is extremely divisive.
