A couple of weeks ago, I found some quotes online from the actor - Chris Evans Nearly Turned Down Captain America! - that had been taken from the latest Empire Magazine. However, after picking up that issue myself today, I found plenty more from Evans on everything from playing Captain America to what he thinks about the planned Fantastic Four reboot! Check them out below and have your say in the usual place!

On Playing More Than One Superhero:

"I don't think Fantastic Four has anything to do with Scott Pilgrim or anything to do with The Losers. The only thing Captain America and Fantastic Four have in common is that they're both comic book movies. I think if you had played a doctor in a movie seven years ago, does that mean you're never going to play a doctor again?"

On The Differences Between Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark And His Captain America:

"Robert did such an amazing job with that role, but the role was a certain way. I don't think Steve Rogers has the swagger and the attitude and the moxie that Robert brought to Tony Stark. I think there's going to have to be a different approach."

On Changing His Hair Colour For The Role:

I don't know if I'm going to go blonde! I have no clue. This is all so fresh."

On The Movies Script And Reading The Comic Books:

"I've read the script and I've got an idea based on all that, but in order to make sure the true fans are happy and satisfied, I have to start reading some comic books in order to get an idea of who this guy is and where he came from, before I can start building the character."

On The Fantastic Four Reboot:

"Am I happy about that? I'm almost indifferent! No, I had a lot of fun playing Johnny Storm - I really did. Human Torch followed me around. Little kids are amazing - they can spot me in a crowd. I can have a beard, I can have a hat, I can have sunglasses on and they'll pick me out!"

The First Avenger: Captain America is set to be released on July 22, 2011.

Does anyone else not find this statement a little creepy? o.O LOL JK.

Honestly, I don't care if he has blonde hair. His hair is already pretty light from what I've seen so whatever. Just do the damn charcater right and I'm sure a lot of people will overlook it.

on his statement about On Playing More Than One Superhero.

"The only thing Captain America and Fantastic Four have in common is that they're both comic book movies."

thats not the only thing Chris they are both Marvel comics. the only thing is that Fantastic Four is been produce by FOX Studio and Captain America is been produce by Marvel Studio. if Marvel Studio had the rights to Fantastic Four long time ago no way he would of been casted to play Captain America.

im in support for Chris Evans playing Captain America hopfully he will do well.

@InstigatorGIRL

when reading that statement again it does sound little creepy LOL

I"m just REALLY glad he cares about what we as fanboys/girls think of the movies to go back and read the comics. from every thing i've read he's really taking this role seriously and almost seems scared of it, he really doesn't wanna [frick] this up, and that's gets a thumbs up from me. Good find JoshW

3.fantastic four vs galactus.
or
1.fantastic four vs dr.doom
2.fantastic four vs the frightful four

@ Lansdowne5
I agree... Maybe he meant that he doesn't know if Marvel is going to dye his hair blonde, since they're in charge.

@Lansdowne
he didn't say he he didn't want to dye his hair blonde for the role.
he just said it was too early to discuss it because he propbably hasn't even talked it over with the director yet.

well he is saying that fantastic four and captain america are not the same universe in wich they are. if it were just two comic book movies then no one would really have a problem.now when marvel get the rights back to fantastic four and combine the universes then human torch could end up meeting captain america. but thats not going to happen for along time.so everyone get over that and we will see a new human torch anyways. my only concern is with the hulk/ banner returning i really hope he does,as well as leader, abomination, and ultron, absorbingman, and winter soldier, then the skrull.or in some other order but they need to use those characters, and ant-man,hawkeye,and wasp for the heros.

It's really early to be getting pissed about him not knowing the character.

LOL, I know it sounded kinda messed up, but it's not uncommon for celebs to wear hats and glasses to avoid drawing attention to themselves.

Thanks guys! :)

I know that it's still a little early to tell but after seeing him in movies like Sunshine, Push and Street Kings (among others) I'm completely confident with Evans' ability to make an excellent Captain America! As for his hair colour...does it really matter!?
Superheromoviefan
Superheromoviefan - 5/23/2010, 1:50 PM
He is totally right. The Captain America movie must have a very different approach.
He was good as Johnny, but he was one of the very few good things in Fantastic Four movies.

As for who should replace Evans as Johnny Storm - Chris Pine of course! :)

@LEEE I have to agree Ryan Kwanten would be awesome as Johnny Storm! Misha Collins and Ryan Kwanten need to start getting some Big roles because I think they have lot of potential to be A-listers. Same with Alexander Skaarsgard.

@LEEE A movie starring Misha Collins is going to be on Sy Fy channel (I know... lame.) on June 10. Its called Stonehenge Apocalypse. Am only gonna watch it to see how Misha does in it, but I am not going to be too harsh because, well, its Sy Fy... lol. You know?

good to see he is taking a serious approch to the character and sinserly wants to know the character to make it genuine on screen...as for the hair i do hope marvel asks him to dye it a little more blonde for the role....most of you have said this but ill say it again its way too early to say anything about his hair, he probably hasnt even talked to them about it yet...im just glad hes taking the right approch...as for the suit i think its gonna be the more classic verson
