Writer Fred Van Lente tells Newsarama how he ended up writing the comic tie in for the Captain America:The First Avenger film and what he thought about the script and images he was able to see..

"The studio's requested me and I was really flattered. I got to read the script, which was wonderful. I got to see all the stills and everything. I have seen literally hundreds of images from the movie. I am so psyched. I think it is definitely going to be a classic superhero movie, just from the script alone. But having seen what the actors are doing with it and the set design and the costume design, everything looks terrific."

Though I doubt this subject matter is in the film I wonder whether they thought the author could push the holocaust aspects of the film.
