Captain America: The First Avenger" will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)

"Well we did sign a six picture thing, so there's potentially three Captain America's and three Avengers. We're about to start The Avengers on Monday. That's the next thing. Then we'll see how Captain America does in July and if does well, I'll be back for round two."

"Yeah, they are working on the next script. It doesn't cost them too much to start working on the script, just to get prepared. If the movie bombs, you know..."

"It's gonna be tough. The good thing though is it's all in the same family, it's all under the same umbrella. Marvel will make it work. I might not have a lot of downtime in my life, but they'll figure it out."

"That was a big concern when we agreed to do the film. I said look, 'If do this movie, I don't want to only be in a blue superhero outfit for the next ten years. That's just not creatively satisfying.'

"My agent was aware of that and my agent also represents Downey and . He's experienced in the world of handling Marvel and just being fair to the actor and letting them have time to be creatively satsisfied."

"I feel pretty confident that Marvel will make sure to either take some time off or go and feed my soul to make movies with these guy. Do something that means something on a different level."

With an all star cast which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Captain America: The First Avenger will be released in 3D on July 22, later this year!

I don't want to see a Captain America 2 or Thor 2 immediately after the Avengers. I agree that the franchises need some vacation time. Marvel should use that time to make movies for Dr. Strange, Black Panther, and all their lesser known properties.

I'm not an actor but I write music and I know where he is coming from. There are times you write something and throw it away because it's no good. Then there are times when you write something that you're not fond of and other people love it. And then... there are time when you write something that you are sure everybody is going to love and instead people hate it.

What he is saying is that you never can tell.

Well if this is a compliment then Im delighted, dear barber2323. But the truth is... this IS one of my own pictures I took when I was eighteen ( Im nineteen now by the way) when I were at CC :)

By the way to compete is truly RIDICULOUSLY, I would call it a way for me and others to talk about what they think and feel about CBM

May I ask you how old you are:-)?

So I suppose he and Downey have a female agent and a very hot one that Feige is danging in order to be able to give them creative freedom :)

I can't blame Evans lack of confidence. Harry Potter is one week before Captain America and you know what that means. Number 1 at the box office two times in a row. Just hope you guys will not let that happen. With CBM flooding the market Cap movie is at a disadvantage. Some people will be tired out from watching CBM.

@xbigvmanx

u got that wrong people aint tried of CBM. CBM are not just superheroes but also horror, action, etc. CBM are a genre itself.

@ indoraptor12 I completely agree.

Also, I think it's time once and for all that we see a Namor movie and, OF COURSE, a Hercules movie!

This movie is going to be great.

Chis Evans stated in an interview not to long ago that he just hates interviews and promoting the movies just because he would have to repeat himself like a million times. Which is a reason why he was considering turning down the role. He knew this would happen from his experience with FF. He's probably just bored and tired in the clip.

Can't wait for this film. Next to GL, I think this will be the best film of the summer then Thor comes third. I'll be completely flabbergasted if X-Men: First Class is any good.
TheAmazingSmitty
TheAmazingSmitty - 4/24/2011, 11:02 AM
X-Men: First Class will be good, so prepare to be flabbergasted. As a matter of fact, I think this movie will be great but not as awesome as First Class. No way to be sure until they release, though.

TheAntagonist: I dunno... I'm very iffy about it especially since it's FOX. Anyone can make an interesting trailer. I'm also kinda leaning towards boycotting this movie in a way so that hopefully the rights will revert back to Marvel. The only way I will see this in the theater is if my boyfriend comes out of no where and says he wants to see it. Other than that I'll probably rent it or wait to watch it on TV.
BIGBMH
BIGBMH - 4/24/2011, 11:58 AM
@indoraptor12, I agree. Shooting movies this big back to back has got to be pretty draining. All the training and stunt work and costumes. I totally understand him wanting to be able to do different stuff. It would also be a great time to start expanding. Since Avengers comes out in 2012, we don't need Cap and Thor again until about 2014 maybe early 2015. Iron Man can get his follow up and maybe do Iron Fist, Dr. Strange or someone else for 2013.

I don't think we need to be worried about the way he talks about this movie. He doesn't think it's going to bomb. He sounds enthusiastic in other videos. For one thing this interview was about another movie and he still has to answer Cap questions that he's probably already answered several times. For another he's just talking hyptothetically about the only reason there may not be a sequel. That's the case for Avengers and Thor too. If a big budget movie bombs, then there probaly won't be a sequel because it doesn't seem like a smart business decision.

I knew before I scrolled down there would be retarded "he doesn't seem that confident about the movie" comments. Come on! The guy's obviously exhausted! Kinda hard to sound enthusiastic when you're half-asleep...

Don't be surprised if Captain America 2 both stars and is directed by Evans. ;)

i doubt there's a single person who thinks this movie will be a huge box office success. seems to be such a lack of interest for this.

i'd like to see evan's slightly blonder for avengers.
