Devin Faraci of CHUD caught up with Marvel President, Kevin Fiege, after the Iron Man 2 press conference today. Feige confirmed to him that the Howling Commandos will show up in The First Avenger: Captain America.
Kevin Feige specifically stated,"
The characters will be there as part of the larger Marvel Universe,. From what I get out that quote, The Howling Commandos may not be called exactly that, and will be either soldiers fighting with Cap, or actual army commandos.
For those who aren't familar with the Howling Commandos group/comic, here's a brief bio:
The first group of Howling Commandos was an elite special unit formed in World War II. The original team consisted of Nick Fury, Corporal Thaddeus Aloysius Cadwallander "Dum Dum" Dugan, Private Gabriel Jones, Private Robert "Rebel" Ralston, Private Dino Manelli, Private Isadore "Izzy" Cohen and Private Jonathan "Junior" Juniper who was killed in action after the first few issues.
