The good folks over at
ComingSoon/SuperHeroHype recently found themselves on the set of Marvel's much anticipated
Captain America Movie. Currently refrained from revealing things seen & discussed on the set, not specifically they can say what they saw, and folks from the production crew they've spoken with. And they've included an image with their very own Ben Mortimer, and the actual shield of our First Avenger.
"During the course of the day we spoke to Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, his man on the ground, Cap co-producer Stephen Broussard, the art director, and costume effects supervisors Anna Sheppard and Patrick Whitaker, as well as stars of the show, Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving. We also saw the costume up close, sets, and footage from the film, and from what we’ve seen so far, Johnston and his team are spot on."
Over in Manchester, The conversion of the Northern Quarter into 1940s Brooklyn New York is coming along greatly, with September 22nd being the date where all the false storefronts, old-fashioned signs, and weeks of construction are put to use for filming. The latest set images via
Manchester Filming Blog show antiques being placed in the storefront windows, showing great accuracy & detail to the 1940s era.
Also Alister, a local of the area, spotted several HYDRA branded motorbikes at a public park in London, near Pinewood Studios. He says the
Captain America production crew are wrapping up at the location today. In addition to
that, another local spotted a vintage car that'll be used in the dramatic chase sequence, that the Manchester work is setting up for.
Anyhow,
ComingSoon/SuperHeroHype say they'll unveil more of those things mentioned above, closer to the July 22 release of
Captain America: The First Avenger. In the meantime, actual on location filming will begin next week, so expect a lot more set images, and hopefully set footage.
