I believe this confirms my theory that the "reshoots" would include his cameo.

@ weneedrevelation,

What do you mean "dies"? Don't you know that Stan Lee is immortal? If the day comes when he is no longer with us, it is because he just went back to his home planet.

Stan is The Man.

Seeing as the first comic that he ever wrote was "Captain America Comics" #3, he deserved that extra word of dialogue.

I'm with Grif on this one, his cameos take me out of the movie, every single time.

I get it, he created all this and he's beyond awesome for that. And if I were him I'd do even worse and make myself the star of every one of these movies, but still I think it's annoying.

He was good in Mallrats though.

I find myself looking forward to a Stan cameo just lately, they're a must imo.

I might weep like a little girl when he passes. Grif, soforizo, and JaySin420 get over yourselves. You're likely just contrarians going against the grain. The vast majority of people watching these movies have no idea who Stan is or what he looks like. They only give him cameos as a treat for the actual comic book fans.

If seeing him truly takes one out of a film, rather than make them smile, then they just do not appreciate Stan Lee enough to get over their own hang ups.

To those saying he takes them out of the movie EVERY time must not remember his Iron Man 2 cameo. How one earth could a literal half second (if even that) appearance as Larry King have taken you out of the movie, which may I remind you was hardly just begining. I'm sorry but that's just nonsense.

Haters got to hate or be contrary; probably not enough love at home or they weren't loved enough as a child perhaps molested or abused some other way as a child and thus feel the need to act out emotionally towards others

i mostly agree with grif et al... i know it's just a movie but with all the freaking nitpicking we do about every other stupid detail, i think it's hypocritical that so many of us happily ignore this silliness and lack of respect for maintaining a suspension of disbelief.

they're not all so terrible, though. i thought the one in incredible hulk was perfect for him and he actually did a decent job. either way, it doesn't come CLOSE to the level of stupid of those mind-numbingly unfunny bruce campbell scenes in the spider-man movies.

oh and bartman, you're a flat out idiot.

@theWorld: Why would DC be mad?

Again, I stand by what I said and say Stan should NOT get a cameo in this film for a character he DIDN'T create. Now if it was a sequel set in modern times then I have no problem but this I do have one. Leave it to Stan the man to take all the credit for himself and leave his Co-creators or ACTUAL creators in the rain while he soaks in all the glory.

Joe Simon, Jack Kirby YOU deserve the credit, not your egomaniac "friend".

you know, i love Stan's work and we all know that every single Marvel movie that comes out is more than likely going to have a cameo of him in it, but i am really sick of his stupid tweets about them with every movie.

after stan lee dies, to pay homage they should CGI a cameo of him into every Marvel movie there after

Yeah...I'm with the minority here. I get that the guy created everything and is essentially...a GOD for the MU. But come on...his cameos are really starting to get a little bit irritating.

In the beginning it was kinda cool though...with his Spider-Man cameos...then his DD cameo...then his Xmen cameos and Hulk. But after that...it just starts to get a little out of hand.

(preparing myself for rotten veggies and eggs to be pelted at me) lol

@Apharmd- Yeah...that is a little bit creepy and obsessed right there, lol but kudos for your enthusiasm.

@croniccris- There is no DC equivalent to Stan Lee...thank goodness. The closest I can think of would be Geoff Johns- he didn't do much in the way of "creation" but he is heavily involved with many re-creations of classic characters- Superman and GL being two of them he is infamous for with his "Secret Origins" series for both. Plus he really gets involved with all the DC-media...he has gotten involved with Smallville, the upcoming GL film and he is keeping close-tabs on the Superman reboot. Only difference though is...he doesn't cameo in nearly every single DC film, lol which is nice.

@Darkmatter- I love your fan-made "Man of Steel" poster, it looks really beautiful.

The cameo he talked about being a truck driver in was Thor wasn't it? Maybe in this one he's like a WWII vet or something in one of the present day scenes when Cap is revived, that would actually give a really poignant moment instead of the comedy cameos he has most of the time (they could've even got Joe Simon and some of the other surviving Golden Age Marvel artists and writers for a shared cameo, since Cap IS basically Marvel comics' first superhero)
Stan's cameos take me out of the movies too, but he's so awesome that I look forward to seeing what shenanigans 'The Man' has got himself into this time, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

What's all this talk of 'when Stan dies...'

Does no one realise that the only character who stays dead at Marvel Comics is Uncle Ben?!

On another note, if Ryan Reynolds doesn't get the Deadpool gig, Stan Lee should play him. I know he didn't create him or anything, but he'd own the role. If not Deadpool, then Galactus.
