The first trailer for The Marvels revealed that the sequel will definitely pick up where Ms. Marvel ended, as the strange teleportation between Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan will be at the heart of the series.
To that end, Marvel has decided to air Ms. Marvel on regular broadcast TV. All six episodes of the series will air on ABC on Saturday, August 5th, and Saturday, August 12th.
Specifically, the first three episodes will air on the 5th, while the last three air on the 12th.
Another factor in this decision is likely due to the fact that Ms. Marvel was reportedly the least-watched show out of all the Disney+ MCU offerings to date.
That has to make Kevin Feige and co. somewhat worried, as it seems the MCU is trying to position Danvers to fill the void left by the departure of Chris Evans' Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man.
The Marvels is currently slated to be released on November 10, 2013. It will be directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman 2021).
The Marvels will star Brie Larson (Short Term 12, Fast X) as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris (The Photograph, Candyman) as Monica Rambeau/Photon, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, Zawe Ashton (Not Safe For Work, Nocturnal Animals) as Dar-Benn.
Also appearing in supporting roles are Gary Lewis (His Dark Materials, The Bay), Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class, Concrete Utopia), and Samuel L. Jackson (Secret Invasion).
