I'm guessing the brains is Howard Stark.

The Grunt is Thunderbolt Ross.

The Muscle is Dum-Dum Dugan.

The black lady looks like Nia Jones, Nick Fury Jr/Marcus Johnson's mother

Both female characters have sexualized nicknames. Not very feminist of them.

The Brains is Howard Stark
The Spy is probably Nick Fury.

I don't like how the females on the team are sexualized, either.

Maybe they all donated sperm to make Tony Stark like in Twins except they weren't expecting James Howlett as left overs.

^haha no kidding , would you feminist poons rather the nicknames be "tons of fun", "the beard", or" hatchet-face"? Any woman would love to be labeled any hot name. Just like any guy would wanna be muscle" or" the anaconda". Picky much? Where are the usual bitch complaints about "shit art"?

@Albert @nibs I'm really just advocating diversity. I wouldn't have mentioned it if one of the two women had been... I don't know... "the saboteur" or something. I just find it distracting when the writer is going out of his way to irk feminists.

I was particularly annoyed when they made the large-and-inc-charge Amanda Waller suddenly slim and braless in the new 52. A total lack of diversity is distracting.

This art looks way cooler than the previous issues. Only good art was Iron Man himself.

@Albert I mainly disagree. My discomfort with the cover is not contextual sexism of the 1960's but the actions of the author in assigning two of two females the sexualized nicknames. The nicknames for the men dictate their role in the group. Thus the nicknames for the women indicate their role is to be looked at.

Contextual sexism and racism can be a good and even important plot device. In fact, I thought it was awkward that Captain America: The First Avenger took such care to fly in the face of context with his perfectly diverse commandos and female boss in the 1940's.

People are saying there are two women on the team, but I think it's three. After all, the alien is wearing a necklace and a cleavage-showing top. It would be interesting if this is true, considering the other women basically are described as "female" as the only description we really get, but the alien isn't.

By the way, I wonder what the heck "The Bombshell" is supposed to bring to the team. She can't be a distraction, because that's obviously "The Distraction"'s job. She also is the only one not wearing an outfit designed for practicality, like the rest. Is she an infiltrator, the one who acts like a socialite (possibly by being one)? If that's the case, her description there doesn't indicate it.

This could turn out to be a great story like the last Fantastic four series (Hickman Run). I am certainly going to pay attention but not sure it will bring me back to collecting comics again.
