WHO IS THIS NEW CHARACTER IN THE DC NEW 52!

Today, DC Comics released their first batch in their relaunch of all new #1's for their New 52. However, after reading each comic closely, I could see a recurring presence of a character we still know almost nothing about from Flashpoint #5. Click the Jump to read more!!

Last week, in Flashpoint #5, we were introduced for the first time to a new character whose power and purpose in the DCnU is quite unknown.

In Flashpoint #5, Barry Allen/The Flash must go into the timestream to correct the wrongs that were done and created the alternate Flashpoint timeline that we've been reading for the past year. When The Flash enters the timestream he says, "I need to run back into the time stream, but... I see THREE timelines. Why--?" This is when this mysterious new character is first introduced and says "Because the history of heroes was shattered into three long ago. You must all stand together. The timelines must become one again. You can help me fix that, Barry Allen, but at a cost."

Now, like I said, nothing is yet known about this character, but we can safely assume that he/she is EXTREMELY powerful. And after reading today's comic books, I think it is safe to say that he/she will be playing a HUGE role in a future storyline/crossover. While reading Action Comics, Detective Comics, Stormwatch, and several other books that were released today, if you look closely in certain panels, you can see this character looming in the backgrounds. In Action Comics, he/she was on the train about to crash. In Stormwatch, he/she was in the alley when Apollo was trying to open the door. Look for this character and you'll find him/her.

I guess the question that I'm posing to all of you is: What are your speculations? Who do you think this is? How do you think he/she will factor into the DCnU? Do you foresee a big crossover like a Crisis coming? Leave your comments in the usual place!!

her name is Glorith, - Glorith of Baaldur is a fictional villainess appearing in stories published by DC Comics. Her primary foe is the 30th century team known as the Legion of Super-Heroes, and she was a major presence in Legion of Super-Heroes (vol. 4). Originally a minor villain who made one appearance in the 1960s, Glorith became a central figure in DC's attempts to repair the continuity problems created when it removed the original Superboy from continuity following the Crisis on Infinite Earths miniseries.

Yeah, she's in near every issue that came out today. I don't know if I think it's Glorith, though. This chick seems to be observing particular heroes and characters as if she's looking to recruit a special team or group. She told The Flash that she'll need the heroes to stand together. But I think the real question is: What happens when the three timelines are joined back together and why do they need to be?

maybe after they answer those questions, we'll see the return of other titles, such as Superman/Batman, Red Robin, Titans, etc...

I can confirm that she is also in JL #1, and Detective Comics #1.

You WILL NOT find her in Detective Comics unless you are looking for her. If she had not stood out SO much in Action Comics I would not have even thought to look through the others.
