COMICS: The THREE JOKERS Miniseries Finally Gets A Release Date From DC

It looked as if the mystery of why there were three different Jokers operating in Gotham during DC Rebirth would never get answered, but the Geoff Johns & Jason Fabok miniseries is now set for June.

DC Comics readers tend to remember little things like the discovery of a Joker that's been kept prisoner in the deep, dark depths of the Batcave for quite a while - especially when there's two other Clown Princes of Crime running around Gotham. However, that mystery remained untouched for a number of years as DC Rebirth soldiered on and Doomsday Clock eventually concluded after several lengthy delays.

Well, with the latter concluded, it seems Geoff Johns now has the time (did he ever turn in that Green Lantern Corps screenplay?) to tackle the mystery of Batman: Three Jokers, as DC has announced a June 17 release date for the first installment of a three-issue miniseries that sees Jason Fabok on art duty.

A DC press release describes the story as follows:

After years of anticipation, the epic story is finally here: find out why there are three Jokers, and what that means for the decades-long battle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime. In this powerful, emotional story Batman, Batgirl and Red Hood—all past victims of the Joker—work together to solve a mystery unlike anything they’ve ever faced before!

Another interesting question is if the miniseries will somehow factor into DC's plans for their 5G reboot which may or may not have been downsized in the wake of Dan DiDio's departure.

Ah yes, the conclusion to the time the World's Greatest Detective became a God of Knowledge, asked a chair for a name, the chair told him there were three, and instead of asking a follow up question (Like, say, I don't know ... "What are their names?") decided to go get nachos.

Cesar Romero crazy, Ledger yin to Batman's yang, and Nicholson's mobster. Could end up neat, just not wild about the previous steps.

@Reeds2Much - Yeah, I don't have a problem with Batman taking part in those big DC crossover stories, but I feel like the setups to major Batman story arcs should all feel like a natural part of the world of Batman.

Finally I thought it was never coming out!

P.S Does anyone know if there's any truth to this Henry Cavill/Shazam 2 rumor I've been seeing aroung lately?

@Mrcool210 - Yeah I've been hearing about cosmicbooknews's reputation lately on this site a lot so I shouldn't be that suprised about this if I had heard this from just them, would you or anyone know if this youtube channel Lords of the Long Box (the source that the International Busines Times site were using for this story) are reputable in any way?
Mrcool210
Mrcool210 - 3/9/2020, 11:07 AM
@Superspecialawesomeguy - Nope, they arn't reputable either.

The ones to stick with are THR, Variety and sometimes collider or deadline, anybody else take it with a grain of salt.

@knocturnalzen10 -

No arguments here. I guess batman and his rogues gallery's weird infatuation with one another is what makes him a little more interesting but jeez that man can save a lot of lives if he just locked them all up in Arkham and accidently set off a bomb

Just in time,as it is rumoured that's if this 5G(woke) storyline isn't a hit DC Comics will close its doors.

Which will be sad.
