This May, Marvel Comics will release an all-new three-part, globe-spanning saga featuring the most intensely mismatched team-up in comics and pop culture - The Best There Is and the Merc with the Mouth - in the pages of Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1.

Deadpool and Wolverine's latest joint adventure comes courtesy of two of the pair's most legendary storytellers: formative Deadpool writer Joe Kelly and iconic Wolverine artist Adam Kubert.

Together, they've crafted a relentlessly explosive and deliciously violent series that's described as both a must-have for longtime comic book fans and a perfect entry point for newcomers.

Marvel Comics has now released a trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1 featuring never-before-seen artwork from the limited series.

This explosive sneak peek shows just how deadly the situation Wade Wilson and Logan find themselves in when they go up against Delta, an all-new supervillain with the power to amplify a person's abilities, strength, and savagery to their ultimate limit.

Taken to the ends of the earth by this new foe, Deadpool and Wolverine must embrace radical change and manage to work together to survive and bring down a twisted group of individuals bent on seeing them rip each other to shreds: "Those Who Watch." We get a first look at that twisted group here along with the weaponry at their disposal.

For now, though, Marvel Comics is making us wait for a first look at the mysterious Delta.

"We've seen both guys get put through the physical ringer in many ways, and part of the fun is trying to one-up the next person, or whoever played with these characters before you, but always in service of the story," Kelly said in a recent interview. "And I think in this case, my hope at least, is that we came up with a way to use these guys' very, very unique abilities in a way that reflects what's going on with them emotionally."

As we're sure you'll have noticed, Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1 arrives right in time for Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine's arrival in theaters this July.

Marvel Comics is expected to put the spotlight on these two for the entirety of the summer and, back in February, we also learned of plans for a series titled Weapon X-Traction.

Hey, alright. Maybe more of this and less of the vegan X-villians?
