Avenger's producer John Favreau, who blew everyone away with his take on Iron Man stepped away from directing duties for the third film, and many fans were nervous that they had lost his talents. At worse they supposed he had a bad fallout with Marvel, but he has not wavered that all is good between him and Marvel. This interview is very reassuring even though he just a "supportive" piece it still is a positive in my book. Do I wish he was more hands on? Yes of course. But I'm confident that his incites will not go to the way side as Marvel continues to develop their universe on screen.

"My involvement is just to be as supportive as I can be. Most of the cast is people that came onboard to work with me on the 'Iron Man' film, so I feel a sense of responsibility to them. I really hope it works out,"

"I'm not in the trenches with them and I'm not making creative decisions on their behalf, but I'm completely available and of service."

"They have Joss Whedon, who's a very talented guy and is really good with ensembles and really understands the superhero genre better than I do,"

"I understand 'Iron Man' very, very well, especially the 'Iron Man' movie and the cast and the characters all built to one thing. But there are other characters that I don't know. Each filmmaker had a different approach to how they went about it — 'Captain America' is coming out, 'Thor.' The combining of all those things is going to be its own thing in and of itself that Joss has embraced and wrote the script. I expect big things."

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

I loved Iron Man 2 a lot. I don't understand the hate on it.

I really wish they weren't making Iron Man 3 without him. Oh well...

@ShadesAtKnight

I'm with you, dude... IM2 liked me alot too. Fans are always crying for more characters in a movie, and much action. Iron Man 2 had both things. I support Favreau, he has had guts to carry on the Iron Man whole thing in the cinematic universe... I'll never understand people that hates Iron Man 2...

i suspect something similar to what happened to Sam Raimi on Spider-Man 3, HAPPENED to Favreau on Iron Man 2. in the former, he was pushed into using Venom. in the latter, maybe it was the rushed appearance of War Machine, or the merging of both Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo into one character...who knows exactly...but, i am SURE there's some bad blood between the two parties (Jon and Marvel).

You think that Jon Favreau was the sole man who cast Scarlett Johannson for Black Widow? You don't know the process of film making obviously.

Emily Blunt was going to be The Black Widow, but she had to drop out (sadface). And i agree that cheadle( who i like) was wrong for War Machine, they should have left Howard as Rhodey or cast some one like Michael jai White.

@luckylu - Iron Man 2 was not great i agree, but it wasn't as boring as Elektra. And Ghost was just a popcorn flick, it could have been great but i still like it.
