When her uncontrollable mutant powers were tearing her apart, Rogue found a home and a family with the X-Men. Now with her closest friends at her side, she'll step up to do the same for other mutants in Gail Simone and David Marquez's Uncanny X-Men.
Launching in August, the new series will be the second of three flagship X-titles set in the upcoming "From the Ashes" era. Today, you can check out all-new variant covers for the debut issue, including group shots by Marquez and celebrated X-Men artist Leinil Francis Yu.
We also have a gorgeous piece by Adam Kubert, and the first in a series of character pinups spotlighting the new team by Luciano Vecchio.
Here's the official description for the new Uncanny X-Men series:
After the brutal loss of Krakoa, mutants need the X-Men more than ever. With Professor X missing, Rogue reluctantly finds herself as the X-Man designated to keep the team together. Rogue, Wolverine, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee forge a new home in a New Orleans, and when four mysterious young mutants show up at their doorstep, that home becomes a haven. Protecting mutants from a world that hates and fears them, and using their powers to ensure there’s a future worth living in. They are the Uncanny X-Men!
"Uncanny X-Men is the book that made me fall in love with comics," Marquez recently said of joining the iconic title. "It's been a dream come true getting to work with Gail, Matt [Wilson], and the whole Marvel editorial crew under Tom to put together this story: a badass, heartfelt, action-packed, character driven X-Men mystery."
"I hope readers have at least half as much fun reading it as we have had making it," he concluded.
"I absolutely have to take a moment to praise David Marquez," Simone added. "Not only is this going to be one of the best-looking books on the stands, he's simply an idea machine and he makes every single page better than I wrote it. Anyway, come join us, we're having an X adventure and you're all invited!"
