DEADPOOL 2: Cable Gets The Spotlight In Another Awesome Batch Of Spoilery VFX Stills From The Sequel

Deadpool 2 is now entering its third weekend of release and some more awesome stills from the sequel have surfaced today. While you might not think there are many left to see at this stage, these put the spotlight almost entirely on Cable and shed some light on how that arm of his was created.

As you can see, an awful lot of work was clearly put into that and these hi-res shots show off just how intricate the design was and how much of an impact the
techo organic virus was having on Cable.

So, to check these new images out, all you guys need to do is click on the "View List" button below. Once you've done that, be sure to let us know your thoughts on Cable's look in the comments section.

This shot is from moments before Cable delivers a nasty blow to the Merc with the Mouth which leaves him reeling. Honestly, the first fight between these two definitely lives up to expectations.

Cable brings an epic array of weapons with him from the future and he assembles a gun which would make even Robert Liefeld proud as it's so massive and, well, ridiculously over the top!

This concept art sheds some light on how Nathan Summers' time-travel device was brought to life and the visuals which would be utilised every time he travels forward or backward through time.

We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time in the future but it definitely looks like it could be related to the one we saw in X-Men: Days of Future Past which would explain why Cable blamed the team.

I'm not sure I actually remember this scene from the movie but these images provide a very interesting glimpse at how Josh Brolin's hand was transformed by VFX during the post-production process.

The comic book version of Cable's arm is relatively basic but Deadpool 2 really ups the ante and gives the character a surprisingly detailed and intricate arm which actually looks very realistic.

Another before and after shot of Cable's arm, it's crazy just how much work must have gone into nearly every scene featuring the character because there's no way of faking it without VFX.

What a difference, eh? Here, a practical stunt is completely changed with visual effects to add an explosion...and Cable! This is one of those things you'd never realise was an effect in the movie itself.

Deadpool 2 showed up how things look from Cable's perspective a few times in the movie and here we see how he was able to identify both the Merc with the Mouth and the young Firefist.

Cable kicked a serious amount of ass and took a lot of names during the sequel's prison break and this before and after shot shows how the VFX teams had to change his arm's appearance.

The techo organic virus is clearly ravaging Cable's body and while this movie didn't devote a whole lot of time to that, here's hoping X-Force will delve into the fact it's slowly killing the reluctant hero.

And to finish things off, here's a random shot of the Merc with the Mouth from that awesome action sequence which kicks the sequel off. The John Wick influence was clear to see throughout.

Cable looks pretty great. I was hoping for more colour in his costume but I like the look

Agreed. Wish the hair was grayer too. But Brolin made a great Cable regardless.

I thought this movie was really great actually. I felt it was a bit of a shame not everyone enjoyed it as much, including the people i saw it with.

One thing that has impressed me a lot after this was thinking about the diverse nature of stories we're getting for comic book movies now. - The variation between this, IW, Black Panther, Dr Strange, Guardians 2, Wonder Woman and Logan. (I'm sure there are others.) But they all feel really different and fresh.

Yeah, they kept very true to his “man of mystery” vibe when he first appeared in comics. We never even saw his mutant powers until like 12-14 issues from his debut.
